Your new team

The HR Business Partner is responsible for partnering with GTR’s Pacific, South East Asia and North Asia Business Units to provide comprehensive HR support to employees, managers and leaders.

They will work closely with the Vice President of Human Resources for GTR to find opportunities to solve business problems through broad and up-to-date knowledge of HK and Asia employment law, organizational behaviour, change management, best practices and company policies and procedures.

This position has 1 fixed-term contract direct report who supports on administrative aspects of the role scope.

Your unique contribution

Performance Management & Talent Development

With support from Head of Talent & Learning COE, educate line managers to ensure that the performance and development review process is adhered to and that meaningful feedback is delivered.

Identify succession plans for critical roles based on talent assessment and performance review process & support the calibration process.

Provide input to GTR training plan and work closely with Managers to ensure learning and development needs are identified, strategic priorities are agreed and effective solutions are delivered by working closely with Head of Talent & Learning.

Ensure that all employees have individual development plans.

Contribute to the assessment of the Pernod Ricard Group training programs and learning forums and partner with Head of Talent & Learning to provide staff nominations for such programs.

Support the communication and follow up of Group training programs (MOOCs, etc) for region.


Work with local Management and HR team to drive the GTR behaviours and culture across local region.

With support from EA ensure there is a communications plan in place to drive engagement through regular business updates and feedback on company initiatives.

Recommend, develop and implement new strategies for local region that contribute to making the company an attractive and rewarding place to work with support and guidance from C&B Centre of Excellence.

Supporting implementation of Better Balance initiatives in the workplace.

With support from GTR VP HR lead local organizational change activities ensuring a smooth transition.

Articulate the mission, vision, values and behaviours of the GTR organization, and work closely with local leaders on policy matters, and critical human resources issues.

Employee Relations

Maintain in-depth knowledge of pertinent legislation, rules and employment law aspects; interpret and ensure compliance with local HK and Asia laws and regulations.

Handle all employee relations cases in a legally compliant and professional way.

Partner with local affiliate HR and internal / external legal counsel when appropriate and escalate to GTR VP HR as appropriate.

Provide advice and guidance to leaders on employment and employee relations issues including company policies and procedures, terms of employment and employment legislation, ensuring fair and ethical management actions at all times.

Identify and clarify problems, evaluate potential solutions, implement selected solutions, coach and counsel managers and employees.

Ensure policies and procedures are updated in line with legislation changes.

Lead Recruitment & Onboarding Process

Work closely with Directors and hiring managers; lead recruitment process : definition of recruitment need, build job description, sourcing strategy, identification of candidate, package proposition etc.

Adapt and improve recruitment process (tools, partners, workflows etc) to meet Group’s business need and to ensure a best in class candidate experience.

With support from Head of Talent & Learning to define the global onboarding strategy ensure it is implemented locally for all employees.

Manage the employee life cycle from hire through to probation period process and exit interview.

Budget, HR Reporting & Payroll

Manage budgeting and forecasting of all payroll costs for region.

Manage the HR reporting requirements for GTR and ensure these are accurate and timely.

Manage the annual social reporting process for local region.

Oversee the payroll process and review the payroll memo for Travel Retail Asia employees.

Compensation & Benefits

Ensure that appropriate reward and recognition systems are in place that engage, motivate and retain local employees.

Manage the local administration of annual salary review and bonus scheme process for region.

Manage local compensation benchmarking and provide recommendations for salary reviews and promotional increases.

Manage the review of local job banding evaluations, regularly review and apply where appropriate.

Project Management

Participate in GTR HR projects and Pernod Ricard Group processes such as iSay, FoSC, MUTOR.

Manage office fit out projects in conjunction with local facilities management team.
