The Sensor Technology and Application Research (STAR) Lab is a research team in HKUST that works on the innovation and development of technologies for environmental monitoring.
The STAR Lab holds multiple collaborations with the Environmental Protection Department in Hong Kong and in Mainland China, where the in-lab developed gas and particle sensor technology is being used.
The STAR Lab has the state-of-the-art research facilities for the sensor development and field operation. Our mission is to provide control strategies for protecting public health and enhance mitigation ideas for improving air quality.
The STAR Lab is also looking for a couple of individuals who will participate in sensor operation and maintenance both in the laboratory and on the field to support the needs of various research projects.
logging of on-field and in-lab sensor operation for audit purpose; and providing periodical training to colleagues of STAR Lab team on sensor operation and maintenance.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering / electrical engineering / atmospheric science with one year of experience in working with sensors at laboratory and field level.
Proven technical expertise in sensor operation and maintenance, ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams with excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese and Putonghua are required. (Duration : 6 months)
