Job summary :
Joint Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer WAM Asia and Head of WAMFiT this position will provide significant contribution and leadership to the transformation of the Asia Finance function for Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) & General Account (GA) Finance teams.
The Director FiT WAM Asia will drive the success of the program workstreams by providing the necessary leadership, including oversight for key work from strategy to execution.
The individual will lead, track and coordinate project deliverables on time, on budget and with the planned benefits. The individual will work alongside the Asia Advisory & Analysis teams, WAMFiT teams, Global Finance teams, Chief Data Office, IT and Asia Transformation stakeholders to implement the required business improvements and support the Global architecture to centralize, standardize, and enhance Finance processes to satisfy WAM target model and vision requirements.
The Director is a pivotal leader in the Finance Transformation team, supporting decisions and strategy of the WAM & GA Finance Transformation (WAMFiT) Steering Committee, the Global Finance Transformation (FTC) Committee and the Global Wealth Leadership Team (GWLT).
The Global Finance Transformation initiative is a multi-year, multi workstream transformation of Manulife’s Global Finance Organization including People, Processes, Systems and Data.
Since inception in 2013, this initiative has help generate efficiencies of over $35 million annual run rate savings for our global Finance organization.
The next stage of the program is expected to identify opportunities to leverage our skills and capabilities across Segments and geographies to achieve a world-class global Finance Organization.
The Investment Segment and GWAM aspects of this initiative include the objective to standardize, simplify and automate our financial reporting infrastructure and processes for our Global WAM businesses and achieve a Target Operating Model.

We are looking for someone :
Minimum of 10+ years direct experience in Finance and change roles, ideally with strong experience leading programs & improvements in an asset management company.
University Qualified in Business, Finance, Accounting or Mathematics; preferred recognized professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CFA)
data manipulation, mining and querying; experience with business intelligence / visualization tools an asset
Excellent general business knowledge, problem-solving skills and understanding of various aspects of the business operations with the associated financial data and financial reporting systems, with demonstrable capability to understand and analyze complex concepts and articulate big picture perspective
Proven ability that energizes and mobilizes teams to drive change and achieve results
People / project management experience to lead, manage and develop professional staff combined with impeccable verbal / written communication skills presenting and working with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences including senior executives
A self-starter with vision and creativity with the ability to influence others to drive results
Strong business partnering, interpersonal and stakeholder management, with demonstrable experience of communicating and influencing across a wide range of stakeholders with the ability to collaborate and build relationships locally and Globally

Transformation Management & Leadership

Lead the various phases of improvement, data and finance projects, including analysis, requirements definition, and drive with our partners to design & build, conversion, testing and implementation with specific focus on rigorous management and reporting & analysis
facilitate implementation of new and / or improved reporting processes
Oversee the documentation of business requirements relating to WAM Asia Finance, analytical and reporting processes
Work with Management teams to analyze WAM Finance requirements and Target Operating model design to deliver on business requirements.
Analyze and understand WAM Finance reporting requirements and work with report development teams to translate into technical specifications
help identify and resolve issues / defects that arise
Act as a subject matter expert for WAM Finance sources, systems and reporting / analytical tools
Maintain and report challenges, risks, issues, decisions and action items including follow up with teams to ensure timely reply and / or action.
Consult with team members to understand issues, share experiences, brainstorm solutions and provide support.
Build, develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with GWAM Finance teams across all geographies
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Supports the BU and GMs through a period of significant change to meet project deliverables and ensure employee engagement throughout the process.
Driving timely communication and change management plans to keep Investment Division and Global WAM Finance teams informed and engaged in Transformation program
