Investigate new infrastructure technologies to meet GPB's business requirements.
Provide technical governance over the Products used in HSBC through the Technical Reference Model
Provide service governance of both existing and new technical non functional service definitions maintained within an Infrastructure Service Catalogue
Infrastructure Architecture Designs, approved by the Solutions Architecture Board
Manage relationships across HSBC Operations Services and Technology, GPB Application Development team areas on an on going basis
Keep up to date with business strategies and road maps, technology roadmaps and feeding wider business IT requirements into central infrastructure engineering and strategy teams
Use of knowledge of the exiting client business, applications and infrastructure to proactively make recommendations where it can be seen that improvements can be made
Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement.
Provide technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption.
Have in depth conceptual functional and non functional knowledge of Networking, Server Operating systems internals, benchmarking and performance tuning, CPU Microarchitectures and Server Virtulization, Storage, Cloud, Databases and Middleware
End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
Trading Technologies and ISVs
Passion for technology and understanding how things work
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
