About the Position

This is a Regional HR Partner position based in our Hong Kong office, sitting within our Global HR team. The successful candidate will help roll out a global coordinated effort to streamline the overall HR function, as well as working with managers and stakeholders aligning business objectives with HR initiatives.

The HR team is a small, extremely dedicated group of people who enjoy working collaboratively, both within the team and with the people and groups they support, to keep Jane Street an excellent place to work.

You should love helping people and solving problems, and be excited to contribute to the development of the firm as we continue to grow.

We expect the person in this role to :

  • Be a strategic partner for the business in thinking through issues related to office growth, maintaining company culture, and enriching the overall employee experience
  • Provide guidance to managers through coaching and counseling on employee-relations issues
  • Be an active part of the global HR team through sharing experiences and insight, as well as taking global ideas and make them local where necessary
  • Collaborate with other HR functions to deal with matters relation to mobility, recruitment, compensation & benefits, and payroll
  • Be an outlet for employees and navigate any issues that arise. Be able to support the individuals and the business through the proper handling and resolution of any issues
  • Manage the local HR team
  • About You

  • People management experience
  • 10+ years of experience preferred
  • Possess high degree of maturity, professionalism, good judgment, and strong team player mentality
  • Trustworthy and discreet with the ability to handle all information with the appropriate sensitivity and care
  • Have the flexibility and open-mindedness to learn and be comfortable with both managing and doing the work yourself
  • Possess a positive and approachable personality. Being composed, prepared, and balanced in all interactions is essential for success
  • Good understanding of HR best practices and well-connected in the industry
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and understand data to help inform decisions and strategy across the team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
