Sales Director (Luxury)

Drive execution of the Global Luxury business transformation and sales across all channels (Auction, Private, and Marketplace) in coordination with Regional General Manager.


  • Support the General Manager in driving the transformation of the luxury division on a daily basis to ensure delivery of 3-year plan and radical scaling of the business
  • Partner with technical and operations teams to define requirements for creation of efficiencies and increased quality of output from specialist departments
  • Champion the use of and ensure adoption of new capabilities by specialist departments
  • Collaborate with other regional sales directors to ensure global alignment and sharing of best practices as new regions adopt new capabilities
  • Propose, manage, and implement efficiencies, integration and adoption for new IT and digital improvements, and corporate initiatives in the department
  • Sales and Operations

  • Work closely with the General Manager to execute the local Luxury division and support all sale strategy initiatives :
  • cross-category / theme sales
  • sale calendar scheduling and synergies / overlaps between luxury categories, including exhibitions and cross category layouts
  • sale platform, e.g. Auction, Private, Marketplace : ensure the fluid transfer of property from 1 channel to another to create efficiencies and savings
  • Maintain sale calendar with Operations : including but not limited to internal communication as well as SAP and CAT sale calendar maintenance
  • Lead Point of Contact with Auction Operations to ensure galleries are ready for exhibitions
  • Plan and manage travelling exhibitions. Liaise with offices worldwide to organise the scheduling of exhibitions, the galleries and events in coordination with Marketing as appropriate
  • Lead business to ensure seamless preparation of sales and catalogue and continued evolution of best practices (cataloguing, photography, video, digital first publication, deadlines and alignment with marketing, press and social around announcements)
  • Business Development and Marketing

  • Assist the Regional General Manager for all high value consignments and long- term projects : including but not limited to managing proposals and valuations
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to ensure smooth execution of sale marketing campaigns, including editorial, digital campaigns, and website content.
  • Support the Regional General Manager for Global Luxury business development initiatives
  • Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level
  • Post qualification business experience, ideally in a business support / process management role
  • A solid understanding of the art world, and ideally experience in an international auction house
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and partner with senior leaders for change management
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly organised, detail oriented, multi-tasker
  • Creative problem solver, energetic and persistent
  • Confident team player, capable of working well independently and as part of a busy team
  • Ability to speak Cantonese and or Mandarin beneficial, complete fluency in English essential
