Technician (IT)

  • The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing end-users technical support, and conducting troubleshooting on hardware, software and other computer services;
  • b) maintaining and performing regular test on IT equipment and server; (c) installation and configuration of network equipment;
  • d) managing hardware and software inventories; (e) performing system administration; (f) serving as LAN administrator, and co-ordinating among the University’s ITSC and office users;
  • g) preparing and maintaining training materials and user manuals, and providing training to office users at times; and (h) undertaking ad-hoc IT-related tasks / projects as required.

  • Applicants should have / be (i) a Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines, from a recognised university or technical institute ;
  • ii) at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in an IT-related field; (iii) familiar with MS Windows, Server, Workstation OS, MS Office and Windows applications;
  • iv) good knowledge of TCP / IP, network infrastructure, Internet, security and e-mail technologies; (v) independent, hardworking, mature and able to work under pressure;
  • vi) self-motivation, a quick-response work attitude, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills; and (vii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese).

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

    Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
