The Equity Derivatives Trade Support team based in Hong Kong is responsible for providing support to the Institutional Equity Division’s Derivatives Sales & Trading desks and Risk Management function :

1) OTC trade capture and life cycle maintenance

2) Ensuring the integrity of the front-to-back trade bookings

3) Acting as point of escalation for operational issues with faceoff to Sales and Trading Stakeholders

4) Primary / Secondary trade capture and management for MS-issued access warrants.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing operational controls and help to shape future state control framework and technology supporting the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Control product set-up and trade booking
  • Verify trade bookings to Term Sheets or other sources
  • Processing lifecycle management for supported products
  • Reconcile and resolve position / product & internal accounting breaks
  • Interact with other internal support areas such as Finance, Confirmations, Settlements and Legal
  • Identify and escalate control-related issues and develop procedures / solutions to close gaps
  • Interact with the Sales & Trading Desks, answering any ad-hoc requests / trade related questions
  • Partner with stakeholders to specify and deliver business process improvements and efficiencies via changes in procedures and technology
  • Support Transaction Reporting processes (HKMA / MIFID) and periodic submissions to the Regulator
  • Serve as a point of escalation for business units and clients for operational issues
  • Develop and enhance relationships with the key stakeholders, by providing exceptional levels of service
  • Skills required

  • Financial background / knowledge and good understanding of equity derivatives
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment
  • Previous experience of working in a Trade Support / Line function
  • Familiarity and experience with the front-to-back lifecycle
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize competing demands
  • Ability to think laterally, and recognize opportunities for system / process improvement
  • Strong adaptability, communication & relationship building skills with the team and with higher-ranking and demanding stakeholders
  • Capacity to understand, summarize and explain clearly complex processes / issues
  • Know when and how to escalate issues in a timely manner
  • At least 3-5 years of experience. Experienced candidates may be considered for Director / AVP
