Role Summary

Payoneer is looking for a seasoned, energetic, and ambitious Director of Business Development to build our business in the regions of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

The candidate must take ownership to the highest level, learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and build our business in the region by implementing effective acquisition strategies, creating strong partnerships, and identify emerging opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting structure

  • Regional Manager Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan will report directly to the Regional Manager of Greater China.
  • Performance Objectives

    His or her performance will be measured by the following goal :

  • Revenue / volume growth
  • Profit contribution

  • Traveling

  • The individual spend a minimum of 40% traveling, either meeting partners or customers to uncover business opportunities
  • The individual should be available for traveling to Israel twice a year.

  • Role Definition

    Experience with cross-border payments, ecommerce, or B2B exports is preferred. The ideal candidate will need the following competencies to succeed :

  • Build and grow our new region acquisition initiatives / teams to grow revenues and volumes
  • Build partnerships and relationships that drive acquisition of customers across multiple product offerings
  • Identify and execute upon UX, product, and service requirements to become more effective in the region
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives / leadership team and drive new vertical and go-to market activities
  • Follow processes, guidelines, and best practices according to Payoneer’s legal / compliance and risk controls
  • The candidate will have a :

  • Strong Track Record The candidate will have a strong successful track record to entering / penetrating new markets (zero to one).
  • In addition, the candidate will demonstrate proven success of building a strong sales / acquisition team and executing a go-to-market plan.

    Lastly, the candidate will have a demonstrated aptitude for both operating and thinking strategically while also being willing to roll up the sleeves and get into the details and work directly with customers when appropriate.

  • Strategic Focus - The candidate will acquire a strong understanding of new business verticals ecosystem, key stakeholders, business payments, and payment opportunities.
  • Problem Solving The candidate will have strong problem-solving capabilities. Entering a new market with many moving parts / uncertainties is not easy.
  • The candidate has to thrive in such environments and have the ability to build / design solutions where they previously did not exist.

  • Collaborative The candidate will work closely with account management, product development, marketing, etc., land and expand his / her go-to-market strategy.
  • Extremely Data Centric The candidate will provide timely, accurate, and useful analyses concerning the status of the new business verticals, including progress against
  • Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive service experience in various B2B organizations, of which at least five (5) years in a director role.
  • Demonstrated success is a requirement in these roles.

  • Experience within a global organization and working with customers of a variety of sizes around the world, including North America, Europe, China, and Latin America.
  • An aptitude for project management (concurrent projects) and developing scalable systems and processes to manage high-growth while enhancing the customer experience.
  • An aptitude for balancing resource constraints, budgeting, and raising the bar on quality and service delivery.
  • Experience with Software-as-a-Service or Payment Solution business models.
  • A working knowledge and experience of either the Ecommerce or B2B exports industry
  • A keen sense of ethics and integrity.
