Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.

The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-

money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Transaction Monitoring System Control, Asia Pacific .

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in maintaining oversight over all Anti Money Laundering regulatory and compliance matters for 22 entities within the region
  • Provide management direction to foster effective selection, development and reward of subordinates while contributing to initiatives in support of HSBC's Diversity programs
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering and terrorist financing
  • Coordinate and hold to account IT, Global Risk Analytics, Risk Stewards, Money Laundering Reporting Officer throughout the investigations
  • Attend weekly management scrum with IT, escalate issues and remove blockers
  • Ensure GRA provide impact on the TM models and Risk Stewards, MLRO provide risk view
  • Delivery of Data Reconciliation results to the Regional operating committees and Data Governance Forum for their region
  • Identify, investigate and report all material and significant AML breaches or potential breaches of regulations as they relate to assigned areas;
  • ensure completion of corrective action where required

  • Coordinate and submit management information and reporting to Financial Crime Risk and Financial Crime Compliance governance committees, ensuring key risks are highlighted.
  • Collating relevant information, data reconciliations and metrics to develop periodic quarterly reports
  • Requirements

  • Proven and progressive financial services operations, compliance or legal experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of due diligence standards respecting Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client requirements an asset.
  • Highly developed managerial, communications, negotiations, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communications and analytical skills
  • Experience in preparing and presenting management materials
  • Facilitating stakeholder meetings and providing detailed and accurate minutes
  • In-depth knowledge of systems development process and programme and project management
  • Ability to interpret and solve complex issues, often with incomplete information, requiring strong analytical skills.
