In this context, Pernod Ricard is expanding its marketing capabilities in Asia by establishing a Design Studio to support the regional marketing needs.

Reporting to the VP Marketing of Asia, Pernod Ricard Asia is looking for a Head of Creative Studio based in Hong Kong to lead the creation of the in-house studio and regional marketing design workstreams.

As the creative catalyst, the incumbent will work in direct relation with Regional Marketing and Innovation team this role will transform strategies into creative reality.

He / She will be a passionate designer with proven experience in leading a design function for international brands. They will be able to perform as both an independent contributor and also a strong leader who will identify new talent and manage a team of designers / agencies to ensure execution excellence with a wide range of stakeholders in the region.

Therefore, strong leadership, communication, collaboration and ownership are must haves for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Inspire and manage creativity via deep understanding of the consumer and design trends to elevate with quality and creativity on Pernod Ricard brands, injecting innovation, elevating premium designs and balancing sustainability needs.
  • Lead & manage design work in the region to meet deliver aligned objectives against timeline and budget. Core work includes creation of brand / campaign asset, brand vis-id development, concept sketching, packaging design and point of sale asset development for online and offline touchpoints.
  • Lead product innovation design process from ideation mood board / sketching, concept development, packaging development to final design qualification and signoff.
  • Be the interface between Regional Marketing and multi-functional teams for different aspects of design production i.e. vendors for print trial, operation team for production & global brand teams for prototype development.
  • Manage external parties (agencies, free-lances, talents, contractors, suppliers, etc.) via clear project understanding, leading briefing and disciplined design process management.
  • Enable markets to implement design assets with excellence, ensure timely deployment of assets with guidelines, consistent quality across touch points
  • Support senior leaders on design / production needs on regional presentations / training.
  • Expand regional creative : building the new team, introducing new talents in Asia (graphic designers, agencies etc) and improving innovation capabilities in the department via training.
  • REQUIREMENTS :

  • Educated to Degree level
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in creative agency / in-house design leadership role (preferably in FMCG / Alcohol industries) with proven experience managing team across all aspects marketing design (concept design, brand ID, packaging digital assets).
  • Exceptional design software skills including Adobe CS, Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with track record in leading creative proposal / presentations, clear written design brief and collaborating with wide range of internal and external stakeholders internationally.
  • Highly organized and meticulously detail oriented to concurrently manage multiple projects while delivering with quality against timeline & budget.
  • Strong collaboration & interpersonal skills to manage and influence multi-functions at different levels of the organization.
  • Experience in consumer packaging design including solid knowledge of materials and printing technologies and final artwork & technical drawing finalization.
  • Languages : English (fluent in written and verbal communication) is required. Other Asian languages is an advantage.
