Director, Market Planning

  • Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and long-range planning to develop and implement the strategy to launch a digital risk platform in APAC.
  • With particular emphasis on India, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

  • Lead customer interactions to uncover market problems, customer needs, user / buyer personas and processes, and purchase drivers.
  • Develop mindshare and support relationships with industry and trade associations, government representatives, NGOs, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the market area.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and competitive dynamics in the target markets.
  • Accountable for revenue objectives in the specific market area.
  • Integrate competitive, business, and resource considerations to develop strategy, product, and go-to-market plans that meet short-term and long-term revenue targets.
  • Initiate and develop pricing strategies and policies; recommend pricing actions and promotional programs in support of market area strategy and revenue plan.
  • Communicate strategic decision and product plans to senior leaders across the business.
  • Drive product ideation across functional teams.
  • Develop and lead investment plans, business cases, and metrics associated with key strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate actions to accomplish the market strategy by working within a cross functional team (channel / partner development, product development, content acquisition, marketing, sales) to execute go to market strategies in the specific market area.
  • Review and evaluate the market area performance on a continuing basis and establish the proper measures of performance and provide direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to ensure product direction is informed by current market demands and regulatory requirements.
  • Qualifications

  • Fluency in English.
  • BA / BS or equivalent experience.
  • Some travel within the region (25 50%)
  • Demonstrated competence with strategic planning and product planning processes.
  • 5+ years in understanding and working on technical issues with Fintechs, banks, e-commerce or related companies.
  • 5+ years in understanding and working in the fields of data analytics, modeling, big data, alternative data, credit bureaus.
  • Engineering experience is not required.

  • Understanding of regulatory environments in target APAC countries that touch on data privacy, alternative data, treatment of PII for fraud detection and credit risk.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills.
  • Proven customer-interaction skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in strategy, product marketing, product development, product lifecycle management, and go-to-market activities.
  • Experience in credit scoring needs, gaps, and operational processes of financial institutions, telecoms, retailers, and other industries.
  • Experience developing investment / business cases and leading their implementation.
  • MBA preferred
