Currently, we are seeking a Marketing Manager based in Hong Kong, who would be responsible for independently developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing campaigns to deliver delegate and revenue targets for a number of events.

The position also provides the opportunity to manage a Senior Marketing Executive. It is a new, crucial role within a busy marketing team working on a pivoting mix of online and offline events.

The position is best-suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who enjoys working independently as well as part of a team.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute :

  • Lead the execution of marketing programmes from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration utilising a range of channels including but not limited to web;
  • email; print campaigns; telemarketing; social media; stakeholder marketing, PPC etc. Develop content for all marketing materials and distributions

  • Establish positioning, identify target audiences, develop strategic analysis-informed marketing campaigns for multiple eventsConceptualise and execute multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels
  • Review the efficiency of running campaigns regularly updating reports, estimating demands and delegate revenue based on data and marketing trends (e.
  • g. booking patterns), keeping abreast of activities with marketing executives and tracking performance

  • Create and maintain project budgets and marketing communication timelines maximising ROI and engagementConduct market research to uncover the viability of upcoming and existing campaignsUnderstand and anticipate internal and external customer needs with the ability to think creatively and problem solve efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with sponsors and the wider Economist team to deliver sponsorship and client requirements with confidence and knowledgeEstablish and grow relationships with strategic marketing partners and industry and professional associations including identification, outreach, barter negotiations, onboarding, press releases and ongoing communications

  • Execute effective PR strategies for events, working with external PR agencies and sponsors to negotiate the best deals and deliver extensive media coverage
  • Gather and present data pertaining to the performance of each event, bringing new ideas to improve quality and efficacy of the campaigns being executedManaging a Senior Marketing Executive and leading a Marketing Executive to assist with marketing execution
  • Act as a representative for events marketing across other areas of the events business, including sponsorship, programming and operations, graphic design, as well as throughout the larger Economist Group
  • Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are :

  • 5+ years proven event marketing experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
  • A thorough understanding of offline and online marketing channels
  • Strong project management, multitasking and decision-making skills
  • The ability to run campaigns through an holistic approach
  • Direct management experience, working to support the team while delivering KPI’s
  • Working knowledge of marketing and analytics systems (e.g. Google Analytics, Eloqua, Salesforce, Cvent and back-end website CMS such as WordPress)
  • Excellent written English and proof-reading skills
  • Soft skills :

  • Excellent team and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical skills and a data-driven mind set to forecast and identify trends and challenges with an eye for creativity
  • Persistence in meeting pre-set targets and aiming higher if targets are met
  • Curiosity and the ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Organization and attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills
  • Desired technical skills :

  • Salesforce or other CRM systems, Cvent or other event management platforms
  • Google Business Suite, Google Analytics and SEO auditing awareness
  • Social media, PPC and paid campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others)
  • Organic campaigns
