FWD.COM PURPOSE Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the implementation of a standardized, scalable and robust end-to-end investment accounting system and related processes, controls and governance across the Group to support readiness for future strategic business initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES Define and implement Group-wide target operating model for investment accounting and reporting, including proposals and business cases for centralization / decentralization, outsourcing / in-house across various components of processing, reconciliations, data management, vendor management and application support.
Develop and manage stakeholder relationships across Local Business Units, Group functions and senior management, including effective assessment and alignment of risks and benefits, interest and appetite for transformation initiatives.
Act as Interim Business Owner of Accounting Book of Records for investments, with design authority over overall architectural design, systems build, process controls and data models, definitions and templates.
Lead and manage country migrations from requirements definitions and design workshops, developing test and migration strategy and approach, monitoring deliverables and milestones, to reporting and escalation into overall Finance Transformation portfolio.
Act as intermediary between the business and technology teams, leveraging on subject matter expert knowledge in investment accounting and proficient understanding of technological capabilities in order to assess processes, systems, integration and architectural gaps and recommend robust and sustainable solutions and best practices.
Develop and implement operational and governance procedures to support the Group’s Asset Valuation Committee’s mandate of oversight and assurance over fair valuation of the Group’s investment assets in accordance to accounting policy fair valuation principles and accounting standards.
Lead IFRS 9 end-to-end solution build and delivery, including definition and design of target state architecture, integration, data flows and processes in collaboration with IFRS 17 / 9 Accounting Policy Change Program, technology teams and service providers.
Support other Investment and Finance related transformation initiatives including Group Investment Standards, collateral management transformation, custodian consolidation, Finance close acceleration, IFRS 17 implementation, M&A integration.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Minimum 10 years’ of related experience, preferably in investment accounting / reporting, fund accounting / operations / administration within insurance or asset management companies.
Finance related Bachelors’ degree and / or professional accounting qualification. Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering portfolio of Finance and Investment related projects.
In depth knowledge of investment asset classes and their characteristics, including their accounting through application of IAS 39 and IFRS 9.
Proficiency and appreciation of architectural, systems and process design and related internal controls and governance mechanisms in areas of Finance and Investment.
Ability to articulate, drive, facilitate and influence business decisions among key stakeholders and senior management.
