The Technical Services Engineer Fleet Support and Development (Air Hong Kong) reports to the Technical Services Manager Fleet Support (Air Hong Kong), who is the duty holder for ensuring the Air Hong Kong fleet meets company and regulatory authority targets for defect management and related safety, airworthiness, operational reliability and commercial performance for the airframe and avionics systems.

The Air Hong Kong fleet includes Airbus A300-600 and A330-300 aircraft.

To help achieve our objectives you will be required to apply your technical experience and insight within a focused and motivated team, working closely with manufacturers, maintenance organization and airworthiness authorities, as well as internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Section responsibilities include;
  • 7 day technical support for Base or Line maintenance AOG or critical technical issues.
  • Significant and repetitive defects management to minimise operational disruption.
  • Operational reliability oversight to identify and mitigate emerging technical issues.
  • Oversight of deferred defect levels and management of outsourced defect management functions to ensure service levels and targets are met.
  • Management of operational reliability key drivers
  • Management of technical investigations and corrective action implementation (ASR, MOR, QDR, etc)
  • Airbus fleet OEM and vendor management of performance, reliability and cost drivers.
  • Review and action of Service bulletins and other OEM advisory documentation
  • Currency and awareness of world fleet reliability issues through OEM documentation process management
  • Oversight and optimisation of maintenance cost
  • AD assessment and compliance mechanism implementation
  • Technical investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMS) administration, technical content validation and effectiveness evaluation
  • Off-wing component work scope development
  • Aircraft modification configuration management, justification and budget (Through MPF)
  • Support of the operation (LM and BM) as required
  • Provide technical expertise for department or company initiatives as required
  • Other responsibilities include :

  • Mentoring of junior staff to ensure that they understand and follow company and legislative requirements, procedures or process.
  • Conduct everyday business in the spirit of the 20 / 20 culture.
  • Requirements

  • Minimum 7.5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance. Relevant experience in Aircraft Technical Support
  • Degree in Engineering / Aerospace discipline
  • Proven experience in supervising teams
  • Strong leadership skills. Proven ability to manage across sections / OEMs / MROs
  • Strong in communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change.
  • Proven ability to drive and supervise multi-skilled teams.
