accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Tax Manager, Tax Risk and Financial Reporting .
The purpose of this role is to primarily perform designated tax risk and tax financial reporting for HSBC entities and group in the Region, tax Compliance and advisory for selected businesses, functions and entities within the Region.
This role acts reasonably independently for various activities allocated to them, and with moderate guidance from the responsible Senior Manager, and from the Regional Head of Tax.
Proactive management and delivery of designated tax reporting for HSBC’s corporate entities, Global and Regional businesses and functions in the region, with moderate guidance from the responsible Senior Manager.
This includes corporate and operational tax reporting to Group for external disclosure and to Regional senior management for local statutory accounts, provision of advice and guidance to local tax and finance teams to, amongst other things, promote best practice sharing, completion of assurance type work over the tax accounting in the region, and any other ad hoc initiatives or projects for example stress testing, AOP, new accounting standards.
Proactive management and delivery of designated tax risk reporting for internal risk management purposes. This should be completed with reasonably independent, interactive engagement with group, regional and country, finance, risk and tax teams in order to achieve good quality information and control processes.
Having a full understanding the operational risk framework for HSBC and how Tax fits, completion of the tax input to the monthly risk reporting packs and provision of advice and guidance to local tax and finance teams to, amongst other things, promote best practice sharing.
Proactive management and delivery of designated tax technical areas and subject matters including tax compliance and advisory matters return compliance with the Hong Kong IRD for HSBC Hong Kong taxpayer entities.

Able to cope with pressure, meet deadlines and multiple deliverables
Strong risk and control mindset, experience in managing controls, audit and / or dealing with auditors Strong Tax background or working experience within financial reporting, is desirable
