Job Description


The IT Sourcing Specialist will perform a combination of sourcing, contract, performance and relationship management functions for Avery Dennison’s IT Sourcing and Vendor Management (ITSVM) team. The person in this role will interact with Avery Dennison stakeholders and IT vendors to evaluate vendors and IT services/applications, complete IT purchases, and support vendor relationships. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing administrative support, such as tracking, reporting, data entry, scheduling, and other tasks as needed to support the ITSVM team. 


  • Facilitate business problem / need definition (pre-engagement planning) and sourcing strategy initiation
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking
  • Drive vendor evaluation / selection (e.g. RFx, due-diligence, Q&A, scoring)
  • Lead contract development, negotiation, execution and monitoring
  • Create requisitions, purchase orders, and any other order documentation required for IT purchases
  • Facilitate post-execution contract management, maintain contract system of record and provide proactive renewal/obligation notifications
  • Provide appropriate support / training to ITSVM category managers
  • Work with Finance teams as needed for budget planning, purchasing, and reconciliation
  • Support the deployment of consistent vendor management processes 
  • Support annual executive reviews for key vendors
  • Work with operational teams and other key stakeholders to monitor and report on vendor performance in the areas that include: cost, contracting, delivery and support, flexibility and ease of doing business, partnership and innovation, quality and risk & compliance
  • Collect, consolidate, and communicate detailed and summary vendor results to multiple constituents on vendor performance and relationships
  • Analyze problem areas and help resolve disputes
  • Identify opportunities for vendor innovation and relationship management improvement
  • Manage communications with vendors
  • Perform ad hoc duties when required

  • Qualifications


  • Diploma/Degree holder in business, legal studies, IT or related disciplines
  • 3-5 years work experience in contract management or IT sourcing/procurement, including drafting and negotiating IT contracts
  • Candidates with paralegal or legal assistant background is preferred
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, Mandarin
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (eg. formulas, functions, pivot tables etc.), word & PowerPoint
  • Experience with Google Sheets, Docs and Forms is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel as required, an estimated 10%

  • Responsible, takes initiative, well-organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to handle multiple vendors, projects and a wide range of tasks
  • Self-motivated / ambitious and ability to operate with little / no supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for managing disputes, vendor development and mutual benefit
  • Ability to work well at all levels of the organization from executive and down, both in a team setting and as an individual contributor
