Job Summary :

Ensure the smooth operation of Motor Lines Insurance business by appropriately evaluating the acceptability of risks within established authority levels and to make pricing recommendations, answer enquiries regarding the work, and working together with motor UW staff.

The incumbent will be responsible for daily operations in Hong Kong and co-managing a team of 5 permanent staff .

Job Duties :

  • Adopt an innovative approach to pricing to drive the business forward whilst maintaining profitability, taking advantage of the developments in pricing and analytics technology
  • Adhere to high levels of customer service and ensuring SLA’s are kept up
  • Back up and reinforce job duties of senior manager
  • Implement strategies providing effective management of a pricing team function.
  • Provide excellent leadership to all direct reports and to the teams within the relevant function, and monitoring the performance of the function.
  • Ensure positive communication with all team members, colleagues, executive and shareholders.
  • Ensure excellent communication with all internal business areas.
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards / regulations at all times.
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business administration or management, with professional Insurance qualification (eg IIQE Paper 1 & 2 is a must)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in customer service, and 5 years leading a team or project management experience
  • Familiar with local market mechanisms, pricing strategies and also key intermediaries.
  • Sound technical expertise coupled with good business acumen.
  • Solid experience of a statistical role within the Motor Lines insurance industry
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and / or internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and budgeting management experience.
  • Ability to drive results by identifying, and resolving problems within scope of responsibility.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and decision making skills also required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Personal Lines insurance products and industry.
  • Solid understanding of the business objectives and operations.
