The primary objective of this position is to advise clients and recommend products and solutions to their problems that adds real business value.

Specifically, the CS Principal Transformational Consultant will use their excellent knowledge related to business challenges, industry trends, the competition, business models, industry value chain / business processes, industry segments, solutions, the regulatory environment, benchmarks, and standards bodies, to create value and enable successful business outcomes for Dimension Data clients - enabling them to transform themselves and their industries

The CS Principal Transformational Consultant is a deep specialist in one or more particular industries or verticals and is extremely knowledgeable on industry trends and the marketplace and players.

These industries include but isn’t limited to Financial Services, Healthcare, etc. They deal with highly complex and large, global, strategic client accounts.

    Consultancy

    Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.

    Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements.

    Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.

    Analytics

    Specifies and applies appropriate analytical techniques to create information which supports business decision-making. Formats and communicates results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience.

    IT strategy & planning

    Ensures that all stakeholders adhere to IT strategic management approach and timetables. Collates information and creates reports and insights to support IT strategic management processes.

    Develops and communicates plans to drive forward the strategy. Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines for IT strategy development and planning.

    Innovation

    Actively monitors for, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organisation.

    Clearly articulates, and formally reports potential benefits from both structural and incremental change. Encourages and motivates colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures.

    Business process improvement

    Analyses business processes; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and recommends new approaches. Contributes to evaluating the factors which must be addressed in the change programme.

    Helps establish requirements for the implementation of changes in the business process.

    Enterprise & business architecture

    Contributes to the creation and review of a systems capability strategy which meets the strategic requirements of the business.

    Develops models and plans to drive forward the strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.

    Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management, practices, procedures, organisation and equipment.

    Emerging technology monitoring

    Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies. Identifies new and emerging hardware and software technologies and products based on own area of expertise, assesses their relevance and potential value to the organisation, contributes to briefings of staff and management.

    Relationship management

    Identifies the communications needs of each stakeholder group in conjunction with business owners and subject matter experts.

    Translates communications / stakeholder engagement strategies into specific tasks. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.

    For example, may oversee the organisation's promotional / selling activities to one or more clients, to ensure that such activities are aligned with corporate marketing objectives).

    Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels, ensuring that organisational policy and strategies are adhered to. Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding.

    Work Outputs

    Problem identification and analysis

    The CS Principal Transformational Consultant will support and advise on the definition of client requirements, conduct value assessments and business process analyses.

    This employee will use their sound client engagement skills to identify and analyse client problems and opportunities for improvement and work closely with the relevant internal stakeholders to consider the appropriate and innovative solutions to solve these problems.

    They conduct business diagnostic studies and assess functional areas of the information technology sector.

    Business transformation initiatives and solutions

    These individuals take responsibility for the completion of the required documentation relating to a business transformational initiative.

    This includes the development, maintenance and communication of technology roadmap documents and business cases. They understand how IT services use applications and how these can be used to transform business and translate these into a solution for implementation by the relevant internal stakeholders.

    The Industry Consultant will provide the end to end solution set to enable the client’s business transformation. They search for innovative solutions that will lead to business development initiatives for Dimension Data and continuous improvement enhancements for the client.

    Co-ordination of the solution implementation

    The CS Principal Transformational Consultant takes responsibility for the integration of the solution by orchestrating the internal co-ordination of the solution implementation.

    They continuously drive for client satisfaction and brief and introduce the consultant specialists, ensuring the completion of assignments.

    These individuals need to follow-up and close out on the agreed business upgrade plan.

    Practice Management

    CS Principal Transformational Consultants remain abreast of current trends and best practices in the area of expertise by attending industry and technical conferences.

    They have the ability to integrate all the domains of applications architecture.

    Consulting

    They demonstrate a good command of consulting skills through their ability to successfully apply the Dimension Data Consulting Services methodology to increasingly complex consulting engagements.

    In addition, they have knowledge of project management principles and they ensure that projects with clients are executed accordingly.

    Business development

    They provide their engagement and subject matter expertise in supporting the internal stakeholders in proposal development and other business development activities.

    They work proactively with sales to look for additional business opportunities to address client requirements and continuously search for creative solutions to address the client’s business needs.

    These employees identify business opportunities and benefit potentials through business and industry intelligence and solutions.

  • At least 12 years' experience in a consulting or senior IT role within a large scale (preferably multi- national) technology services environment
  • Minimum 6 year’s transformation consulting experience
  • Deep vertifcal / domain / industry expertise coupled with consulting and client engagement experience, demonstrating solid experience in client needs assessment and change management
  • Proven experience in integrating the solutions for particular projects with the business domain, enterprise concerns, industry standards, established patterns, and best practices
  • Proven ability to facilitate and lead conversations and workshops with Senior and Executive level clients
  • Experience of running discovery workshops, linked to presenting findings back to the c-level within a client as well as capability to interact and resolve any areas when challenged on findings and or recommendations in a collaborative and successful manner
  • Proven business development and pre-sales experience
  • Proven Management Consulting and Business Transformation track record
