Management
Development and implementation of the trust business strategy in conjunction with Senior Management Team
Decision-making at management and board meetings on client, operational, technical, risk, compliance and financial issues
Client Relationship Management
Primary 90% Wealth Planning, Trust Marketing and Sales, Trust Establishment and 10% Trust Relationship Management with existing clients
25% travelling in Asia Pacific / Global required
Develop and maintain strong long-term key clients’ relationships, understanding their needs and expectations and ensuring they are engaged in a professional and timely manner
As a senior point of contact, face to face, verbal and written communication with clients, trust related parties and advisers on the most complex issues, in a professional and timely manner
In-depth knowledge of clients’ wealth and family circumstances being a source of informal advice for trust related parties, clients and team members while obtaining formal advice for clients where required
Maximize client retention
Trouble-shooter, identifying and rectifying problems at an early stage
Development of additional business with the client and their wider network, as appropriate, for wider Group
Financial Management
To deliver or exceed allocated New Business Revenue budget
To preserve and grow income in the team and wider business, negotiating fees as appropriate
Promote responsible and reasonable charging of time to clients, ensuring chargeability targets are met
Responsible for providing timely client information to Senior Management Team as required for management purposes
Risk Management / Compliance
Responsible for all administration, risk and compliance matters relating to the team’s administration of its clients, in accordance with the policies and procedures manual and in association with other relevant departments
Ensure licensed Vistra entities remain compliant with prevailing local and international legislation
Promote an effective AML / CFT culture as described above within the team
Attendance at ad hoc meetings as required. Consider and sign-off trustee decisions within agreed parameters
People and Operational Management
Coordinate subordinates in prioritising and delegating workflows and ensure effective utilisation of all staff in the team
Oversee and monitor any delegated work to ensure that it is handled in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner
To maintain own fiduciary specialist knowledge as well as knowledge of products and those of the intermediary / wealth management market in general
Promote the development of talent within the team by coaching and mentoring team members
Technical Skills
Ability to identify client needs and market trends
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide non-technical explanations to technical matters, and summarize and present information in a clear, concise and accurate written and verbal format
Self-motivated and ability to think outside the box to solve client’s issues
Lead by example to supervise, motivate and develop a team
Strong technical knowledge of all aspects of trust and company administration including tax law
Relevant Experience
Minimum 10 years relevant working experience, preferably in professional or financial services industry
Previous business development experience and proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
Memberships
Minimum tertiary degree preferably in law
STEP Diploma in International Trust Management / STEP qualified
Computer Skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Languages
Professional proficiency in oral and written English and Chinese (Mandarin) is a must
