Job Purpose :
Trade is part of the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business of Citi. Trade involves a broad range of funded and unfunded Trade products and solutions including the following businesses;
i) Trade Services and Finance (including insurance letters of credit, export and import LCs / guarantees, receivables finance, bills discounting, distribution / distributor finance, export & import Loans, structured trade including pre-
export loans and commodity backed financings); (ii) Supplier Finance; (iii) Export & Agency Finance (EAF); (iv) Trade Risk Distribution and (v) Trade Sales (for Corporate, Public Sector and FI).
The role includes managing and working with trade product team, sales teams and clients throughout the APAC region, including both developed and emerging market countries engaged in Global Trade, Capital projects and Investments.
The role, based out of Hong Kong, reports directly into the APAC TTS Trade Sales Head, and will be responsible for managing specialized Trade transactions for Corporate, Public Sector and FI for the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities :
The role will involve the following :
Working with trade partners across the globe to expand and grow cross-regional Trade for Asian clients.
Partnering with the TTS Sales team in the region to grow and expand the Trade wallet in structured products.
Partnering with Banking teams in the region and across countries to leverage on the Bankers’ portfolio and support them in identifying trade opportunities across their clients.
Leading the most relevant transaction, to ensure delivery and execution across all trade products.
Providing support and direction into "winning" the most complex and profitable transactions.
Fostering a strong "one team" mentality across various Trade product & sales teams seeking to maximize collaboration, cross-
sell & build team spirit in APAC across a broad and culturally diverse team.
Building a strong partnership with the Trade Implementation and Operations teams and constantly seeking ways to improve Trade efficiency, turnaround times and ensuring we minimize operational losses / errors.
Contributing to global Trade being No.1 in the Dealogic League Tables and improving Trade APAC's results in league tables and general market presence.
Knowledge / Experience :
Extensive Trade experience.
Proven track-record on deal execution across trade products.
Strong credit skills and experience, including broad knowledge of Citigroup credit processes.
Client and product management experience.
Good understanding of different cultures, and country idiosyncrasies
