Dr Zhen LIU is an incoming Assistant Professor of the Division of Life Science. He finished his PhD (biophysics) training in Peking University in 2015 and postdoctoral training in University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children in 2021.

The Liu Lab will be open this September. It is now seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in primary cell culturing, shRNA knockdown / CRISPR manipulation, and fluorescence microscopy to join the team as a Research Assistant.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining patients derived primary cells, developing shRNA KD / CRISPR KO cell lines, preparing 3D-SIM and STORM samples and collecting / analyzing data for super-resolution fluorescence microscopy.
The appointee will be treated the same as postgraduate students and get full scientific training for future career development.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in cell biology or related discipline. Proficiency in cell culturing, and shRNA / CRISPR manipulations is required.
Experience in fluorescence microscopy / super-resolution microscopy would be an advantage. The appointee should also be able to communicate effectively in English and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
