Your field of responsibility

The position is for the head of the business engineer team across all APAC markets, interacting with Trade Management teams in Hong Kong, Japan and India, and which includes the following responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the APAC Securities Trading Services Project portfolio as the business engineer. Current major initiatives include both global and regional projects covering strategic, regulatory and mandatory projects.
  • Seek to support the delivery of regional and global projects, initiatives, new business, and regulatory requirements, providing support to teams based in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
  • Be the subject matter expert within the APAC Securities within the change program.

  • Work closely and get along with line users and IT to ensure that all proposed IT developments support strategic-initiatives and also support APAC Securities Trading Services requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with regional internal and external partners (including Front Office, auditors, users and IT).
  • Assist with the budget planning meetings to ensure Trade management are appropriately funded for forthcoming projects.
  • Management of a team member within the BE function, including goal setting and performance appraisal.
  • Active member of the TM senior management committee assisting in the setting of team goals and objectives and regular presentations and updates to senior management on the TM project landscape.
  • Act as an ambassador for Securities function both within and outside Operations.

    Securities Trading Services supports both Equity and Fixed income cash business. The role requires direct interaction with regional and global partners in both Business & IT to drive all operational related implementation.

    We are looking for candidate with investment banking experience and project management skills, either in operation or in similar function.

    Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, good problem solving skills, a team-player and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

    Your skills and experience

    This team works in a very fast-pace environment, where the teams need to handle different kinds of situations or requests that they may or may not have experienced before.

    Therefore, this role would require excellent problem solving skills and team members need to be able to handle pressure and manage difficult situations.

    Partner management skills are also key.

  • Experience in Cash Equity Operations and Project Management
  • The candidate should have good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and can thrive under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, work to intra-day deadlines and work flexible hours dependent on trading volumes and requests from other areas, including Front Office, clients and other business partners
  • Outstanding problem solving skills and always endeavor to get to the root of problems and resolve completely
  • Proficient in global markets and an understanding of Front, Middle and Back Office organizational structure. A good understanding of cash equities is preferred
  • Good knowledge of trade booking and processing, client onboarding and off-boarding would be an advantage
  • Experience of Front Office facing functions as well as previous people management experience a plus
