The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-

money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Wholesale Banking Financial Crime Compliance Manager.

Principal responsibilities

Ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime risk within the client portfolio and potential impacts on HSBC

Ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime risk change and potential impacts on Commercial Banking Business Model in Country

Development and continuous review for appropriateness of control framework to monitor financial crime developments impacting on Commercial Banking in Hong Kong

Drive the local implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global Commercial Banking.

Works closely with relevant Global Financial Intelligence Unit and Business Financial Intelligence Units to manage Risk and Compliance matters

Oversight over all regulatory and compliance matters as they relate to Commercial Banking Financial Crime Compliance and the management of operational risk.

Reviews and assists in the effective deployment of the Financial Crime Compliance Assurance function in the Country

Liaise with relevant Country stakeholders within Commercial Banking, other Global Business and Functional teams to provide Commercial Banking expertise on all Financial Crime Compliance matters from client issues to Financial Crime Compliance Strategy

Resolve all identified issues promptly, and escalate concerns as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns as per internal guidelines.

Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal and external auditors and external regulators

Develop and implement as required Anti Money Laundering, counter proliferation, anti-bribery and anti-corruption and sanctions policies and systems that ensure that Commercial Banking exposure to financial crime and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs

Requirements

Extensive Anti money laundering expertise, particularly related to Commercial Banking.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy.

Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues.

Significant experience in Risk and Operations Management together with business management, preferably from a frontline role in Commercial Banking.

Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.

Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and data and provide succinct summary for management.

Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred

Demonstrate ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business
