Assistant Director of Finance/Senior Finance Manager

Applications are invited for appointment as , to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.

  • Applicants should possess : (i) a good Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; (ii) a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent);
  • iii) at least 15 years’ relevant work experience, of which at least 8 years’ post- qualification experience at managerial level in financial management / control;
  • iv) solid experience in China operations; (v) analytical and logical thinking; (vi) very good quality writing skills (for both Chinese and English materials), as well as proficiency in spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • vii) effective communication skills, strong leadership skills, mature character and qualities of a good team player; (viii) the ability to motivate and lead staff to align with the organization’s mission, vision and objective and act as a role model and inspire, support and coach staff on planning and managing the process of change.

    Knowledge in other areas of finance operation such as annual accounts preparation, treasury management, taxation and other requirements for operations in the Mainland will be an added advantage.

  • Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance is a key position in the University’s finance function and will be responsible for (i) leading one or more operational units;
  • ii) formulating financial policies and procedures to implement and enhance the internal controls of the PRC offices and the University;
  • iii) statutory compliance and tax reporting; (iv) preparation of quality financial reports and management accounts, business performance analysis, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting;
  • v) liaising with PRC tax bureau, bankers and auditors; and (vi) implementation of accounting system. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Finance Manager.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment will attract a contract-

    end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave and medical benefits.
