Wavemaker is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally.

We are looking for an Account Director. This role is to play a key role in ensuring our client’s campaigns run smoothly servicing a business division under a globally renowned technology & telecommunication brand.

More importantly it is to raise standards of delivery, elevate conversations beyond the tactical to the strategic level whilst navigating a complex piece of business.

It will require someone who is able to manage a team of people. Someone who is collaborative, patient, and who motivates and inspires the people around him / her.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about campaign management and who can coordinate among different local office teams.

We also need someone who is willing to roll sleeves up and implement and work closely with the team on a regular basis.

We are a bit different from other regional / global teams in that we do a lot of implementation centrally and at the same time there are local campaign running in various local country level that we need to oversees for giving strategic inputs and guidance, so if that is what you are interested in this client & team is definitely for you.

Our clients have very high expectations, but also need careful management. We need someone who therefore has good attention to details, but is also able to push back when necessary.

In this role, your goals will be :

In three months :

  • Becomes first point of day-to-day contact for the headquarters client
  • Has developed an internal process that helps team manage workloads better and / or delivers smooth flowing service to the clients
  • Provided constructive feedback about the day-to-day job duty of junior members of the team.
  • In six months :

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovative mindset in client’s briefs and problem solving.
  • Have received positive feedback from a client
  • In 12 months :

  • Submission of a case study (either internally or externally)
  • Have contributed to a significant increase in Vantage scores from a key client
  • What your day job looks like at Wavemaker :

  • Supporting our senior manager and director in managing and coordinate 20+ local offices teams in enhancing the quality in deliverables on the centralized scope of projects
  • Working closely with the rest of the team in supervision on daily campaign planning, operation, management and reporting
  • Working closely with wider team to develop strategy documents
  • Working closely with wider team to identify process or internal / external tools (if needed) to streamline workflow or enhance quality and efficiency
  • Mentoring the junior members in the team
  • Become the first point of day-to-day contact to the headquarters client
  • Management of financial process for the client business group and quality controlling team output in this area
  • Effective use of industry planning tools working together with strategy team on strategy documents
  • Coordinate with relevant specialists within the Wavemaker network (such as SEO or E-commerce) as required for prospecting new client opportunities
  • Being the key project holder for a centralized OOH project to work with buying director and client’s procurement with oversight on all details
  • Working with buying director and trading team on JBPs with leading digital vendors, but also coordinating the SEM requirements with internal performance team
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • 7-10 years in business / advertising consultancy, market research / analytics or a strategic planning role, of which at least 3-
  • 4 years have been spent working on media / communications planning related business.

  • Mandarin & English working proficiency, regional or global experience preferable but not mandatory if willing to learn.
  • Detailed minded and highly organized person who can manage close working relationship with clients and local offices around the world.
  • A team player is a must.
