Practice Summary

The Corporate Finance and Restructuring segment of FTI Consulting provides complete support in turnaround and restructuring, transaction advisory services and corporate recovery.

The practice has a reputation for taking on challenging and complex assignments that require exceptional strategic and technical capabilities.

Position Summary

Directors in the CF&R practice are responsible for planning, supervising, performing and finalising engagements. They are expected to manage the day-to-day activities of projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.

For Directors, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is critical. Directors should be undertaking business development activities and assist in identifying new work opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and evaluate historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact cash flow and deal valuation.
  • Perform industry and company research and assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
  • Provide support and direction to maintain communication with clients and staff members on engagements, while updating senior team members on progress and issues.
  • Supervise, coach and train junior members of staff.
  • Contribute to management of the CFR practice through active involvement in practice development activities.
  • Undertake business development activities including identification of opportunities to sell our services including promotion of cross-practice services
  • Project management including drafting letter of engagement, billing and coordination with client.
  • Maintain professional image within the firm and project the same to those outside the firm.
  • Key Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting and / or Finance.
  • CA / CPA certification or related qualified credential (CFA would be a plus)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably within Transaction Advisory or Restructuring
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese with the ability to draft and write reports (Chinese language skills is a must).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use MS PowerPoint and Excel, including creating financial models and databooks.
  • Highly analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as a Senior Consultant.
