About Feeding Hong Kong
Feeding Hong Kong is a Hong Kong registered charity with a mission to fight hunger in the city and reduce the amount of quality food being sent to our landfills.
Each day, we collect high quality food that would otherwise be thrown away, sort and store it, and then redistribute it to a network of welfare organisations, who in turn feed thousands of people in need.
To coordinate Feeding HK’s Bread Run programme on a Tuesday and Thursday evening;
To support other Feeding HK food donation activities on these nights.
Work closely with volunteers and interns to ensure that all food is appropriately received, inspected, sorted, packed, stored and distributed;
Be an FHK ambassador and help raise awareness of our work through talking to volunteers and visitors;
Set up venue and prepare materials for evening activities, and ensure tidiness and hygiene standards are maintained;
Be the key contact person for on-the-night enquiries from volunteers, food donors and logistic partners;
Ensure end-of-night inventory records and reports are accurate and up to date;
Support with other ad-hoc duties as required.
The post holder will :
Be accountable and report to the Office & HR Manager;
Regularly work with volunteers and interns.
Experience, skills and knowledge
Educated to minimum F.5
Experience of :
Working in the food industry is a plus;
Working or volunteering with a charity is a plus.
Able to :
Work independently and with diverse groups of people;
Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner;
Be flexible, positive and hardworking;
Adopt a can-do attitude and display initiative and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of :
Fluency in written and spoken Cantonese and English essential;
MS Office (Word, Excel)
Working Time :
Every Tuesday & Thursday (except public holiday)
06 : 30 pm to 11 : 30 pm
