The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a world-renowned international research university. The Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China officially approved the preparatory status of HKUST (GZ) in September 2019.
The Guangzhou campus covers 1.13 square kilometers and the first phase of construction is expected to be completed in 2022.
At steady state, the number of undergraduate and postgraduate students will reach a total of 10,000. The intended areas of focus in the GZ Campus will be thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST without overlapping academic degrees or structures.
Four Academic Hubs (equivalent to schools) with 16 Thrust Areas (equivalent to departments) are now in place.
As one of the four cross-disciplinary hubs at GZ campus, the Society Hub aims to conduct cutting-edging research and disseminate knowledge to assist in the economic and social development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and beyond.

The Society Hub now invites applications or nominations for faculty openings at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor (tenure-track), as well as Senior Lecturer or Lecturer (teaching-track) in the Thrust Area MBA .
We welcome candidates with research or teaching focus in the following areas : Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information System, Marketing, Operations Management, and Strategic Management.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in relevant fields and excellent teaching performance in MBA or related courses. Senior academics should have proven readiness in cross disciplinary curriculum and program design, and demonstrated service to the academic community and / or the public.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start-up research funds and excellent research equipment and support will be provided.
All posts are appointments in Mainland China and offered by the HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local employment laws and regulations.
Appointment to Professor rank and some Associate Professor rank will be made on substantive basis. The initial appointments to Assistant Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer rank will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years, and re-appointments thereafter will be subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability.
