Head of HR – Asia Pacific

Apex is looking for a Head of HR for the Asia Pacific region which has a remit of circa 200 employees across 4 countries (Hong Kong, China, Australia and Singapore)

The successful candidate will report directly into the Global Head of HR, and have management responsibilities of their own.

A successful candidate must possess management experience and a proven ability to work independently while contributing to a larger global HR team.

The Role :

  • Act as a subject matter expert; partner with and influence the senior management teams in Ireland on all HR matters including complex / strategic HR topics : restructuring / organisational designemployee relationsthe most current employment legislationtraining and developmentemployee engagementcompensation and benefits
  • Act as a point of contact for employees, supervisors and managers on all HR related issues; respond effectively to local and global queries in a timely manner
  • Work with the Global and Central HR teams for regional input into global projects
  • Coordinate the regional delivery of the people strategy and key employee lifecycle activities (such as the compensation review process)
  • Liaise with the Global HR Team to drive consistency across the business and to share best practice
  • Guide and coach managers to support a culture of increasing line management empowerment and accountability
  • Be an advocate of the Company Values demonstrating leadership standards and behaviours for success
  • Manage a local client group and the associated employee lifecycle activities (e.g. recruitment / onboarding, performance management etc.)
  • Skills and Qualifications :

  • 7+ years of experience in the HR profession (ideally in a HR Generalist / HR Manager role)
  • A human resource management or business-related degree is desirable
  • Experience managing payroll
  • Strong management experience
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into a regional people strategy
  • Remains change agile and thrives in a dynamic environment with excellent collaboration skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset in regards to HR processes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and credibility at all levels within the company
  • Experience covering the Asia Pacific region from a HR perspective
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and understanding of the fund services business is desirable
