FTI Capital Advisors ( FTICA ), is a dedicated global investment banking subsidiary of FTI Consulting, focused on capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, structured solutions and strategic advisory services.

FTICA has 12 globally offices with close to professional and was established to advise our clients through complex transactional challenges by combining years of capital markets expertise, leveraging FTI’s deep industry practices and employing a hands-on approach.

Position Summary

Directors in the Restructuring segment are responsible for planning, supervising, performing and completing engagements with responsibility for day-to-day activities of the team and subordinates.

They are also expected to manage the day-to-day activities of projects and matters from start to finish. For Directors, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is critical.

They must demonstrate the ability to lead and manage client matters with minimal input from senior team members and effectively manage and meet the client’s expectations at all times.

Directors should be undertaking business development activities and assist in identifying new work opportunities. Candidates with the prerequisite skillset and qualifications will also have the opportunity to undertake engagements within FTICA.

Candidates with more experience will be considered as a Senior Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic planning of engagements and potential engagements.
  • Utilise advanced accounting knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and / or results of the agreed scope of work.
  • Interact directly with clients including lawyers and senior accounting personnel.
  • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.
  • Coordinate and review the work of others and ensure the timely completion of engagements.
  • Supervise, coach and train junior members of staff.
  • Contribute to management of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice through active involvement in practice development activities and development of you own professional network.
  • Build relationships internally across different segments to cross sell services to clients.
  • Maintain professional image within the firm and project the same to those outside the firm.
  • Key Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Hong Kong or internationally recognised professional accounting or finance qualification.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in restructuring and insolvency for Director level candidates. 9+ years for Senior Director level candidates.
  • Regional experience in formal appointments and restructuring.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin / Cantonese.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal insolvency process, including relevant laws and practices.
  • Experience in managing teams and projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel when requested.
