Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, is actively building a world-class tax team, in which the Payroll Tax Manager will play a crucial role, addressing the complex multijurisdictional payroll tax needs related to Binance’s rapidly growing global workforce.
Reporting directly to the group’s Senior Tax Counsel, the successful candidate will lead and actively manage all payroll tax matters globally, being the first point of contact both to internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to demonstrating mastery of subject matter, the ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, independent, flexible, and happy in fast-paced environments, and bring a proven record of delivery across these responsibility areas.
Responsibilities
Support the business and regional teams in payroll and global mobility tax matters, delivering accurate, timely, commercial advice to internal stakeholders.
Support will include share incentive plans and novel matters related to crypto-based remuneration.
Partner with Regional Tax Directors in oversight of payroll tax compliance globally, helping to ensure proper withholding / collection and reporting of payroll taxes
Construct, implement and maintain a comprehensive best-in-class global strategy to identify payroll tax compliance obligations, including a global mobility policy aligned with best practices
Work with human capital to implement employee policies with a focus on mitigating payroll-related tax compliance risk
Proactively identify payroll tax risks and work with the broader teams on opportunities for optimization / risk mitigation
Support Regional Tax Directors in liaising with tax authorities and tax consultants globally on payroll tax matters, and support the Regional Tax Directors to manage associated tax audits and litigation
Monitor new payroll tax legislation and policy, evaluate its implication to the group, and brief the tax team and wider business as appropriate
Write technical and non-technical research and compliance memos on payroll tax matters, including detailed commercially focused compliance requirements to be used by various business partners throughout the company
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics or Taxation
6 to 8 years of tax experience with an emphasis on payroll tax matters, preferably in a Big 4 and / or multinational in-house role
Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in payroll tax law and regulations globally
Be a fast learner and be highly flexible and adapted to a fast-paced environment
Be proactive and able to perform well independently in a remote set-up
Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
Fluent written and spoken English, with proficiency in one or more additional languages being desirable
