Senior Manager, Strategic Communications

Responsibilities :

  • Develop strategic corporate communications plans, including regional and Hong Kong media online, offline, conferences, awards, unique global events, thought leadership, intelligence share and think pieces etc.
  • Benchmark objectives : brand reputation, key messages coverage, stakeholder engagement, specialists positioning, competitor review
  • Engineer opportunities and using the right channels for the right initiatives eradicating the formulaic approach for PR
  • Ensuring One Bupa is factored into all levels of communications strategy including product / services PR, internal events, staying true to One voice approach
  • Customer communications is not just executed through press but covers all routes including personalised communications to B2B and B2C, or third-party partnerships to reach new customers which involves working with other departments to make it happen.
  • The creation of an internal content and intelligence hub including company profile, and multi-media presentation, company backgrounder, boiler plates, fact sheets, biographies, key messages and Q&A’s, portraits, images, videos, press panel briefings, hot issue Q&A’s,
  • Media preparation for spokesperson including briefing notes, messaging and follow up with the journalist.
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with Digital, Finance and Business media, pitch relevant media outlets and journalists for executive interviews and media coverage
  • Leads and manages the Press office
  • Produce and review communications contents and materials on print and digital channels that align with the corporate direction
  • Plan and organise events for the public and different stakeholders collaborating with key functions
  • Keep abreast of the news and updates from the government, regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders, and be the spokesperson and contact point of enquiries
  • Work closely with external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory bodies, vendors, media, etc.) and internal departments in crisis and issue management protocols
  • Establish the reputation risk management framework and ongoing monitoring
  • Works with the crisis management team to manage business risk and reputation by identifying risks and issues
  • Work closely with the Content team, HR department to derive comprehensive and timely employee engagement programmes
  • Qualifications, Training and Experience :

  • At least 12+ years of experience in roles either in agency, in-house environment working agile across corporate communications, marketing communications, consumer communications
  • Experience working in communications for B2B and B2C clients
  • Demonstrated experience in media pitching and agency management with clear performance outcomes
  • Understanding of digital communication channels
  • Experience in copywriting and content creation across multiple communication channels preferred, content strategy and leading campaigns is an advantage
  • Project management experience
  • Strong cultural awareness and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence, and people management experience
  • Must have significant commercial awareness and instinct, and be able to understand the role a communications strategy plays in driving commercial outcomes and risk management.
  • Excellent writing skills and both spoken and written English and Cantonese are a must; Mandarin skills are a significant advantage.
