Job Summary :
The Vessel Technician is responsible for the disassembly and reassembly of the Reactor and its major internal components.
Ancillary tasks include the staging of tools and equipment; cleaning and inspection of components used for reassembly, and the packaging and demobilization of tools to the next location.
Duties also include supporting the exchange activities on Control Rod Drive units as well as other undervessel work as required.
The work is typically performed in a very congested area that is typically contaminated and considered a high radiation area.
The Vessel Technician works closely with other team members and will report to the Lead Vessel Technician or Refuel Floor Technical Director.
It will be required to wear radiation and environmental protection equipment which could encompass plastics, anti-contamination clothing and supplied air breathing equipment.
