The ICT business in Asia Pacific operates on a regional basis with a physical office in 9 markets. The Hong Kong business within ICT includes Actuarial Consulting for Life & General Insurance, Technology and Strategy service offerings.

This covers both the domestic insurance market and regional headquarter business.

The Role

As a Manager in the Hong Kong P&C team within ICT you will be responsible for managing / delivering on a wide variety of complex projects including IFRS 17, core actuarial services (such as reserving, risk, capital, pricing) and new service offerings (Strategy, M&A).

Key responsibilities :

The scope of the activities is broad and ranges from statutory work to cutting edge value creation. Business Development, building effective relationships, project delivery, people management and open communication lines with the relevant people across the business is critical is this role.

  • Support Client Management of certain Client accounts
  • Assist Business Development & Pipeline Management
  • Preparation of key marketing materials, credentials to support business development activities
  • Collaborate on projects and clients across the APAC region

  • The Requirements

  • University Degree Required
  • International Actuarial qualification is preferred (Qualified)
  • Strong market knowledge
  • Fluency in English, and preferably a second language. Cantonese and / or Mandarin language ability could be an advantage
  • Relevant work experience (8 years+ as a guideline, some of which will ideally have been within a consultancy) Experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization or non-life insurance firmExperience or interest in selling projects to insurance / financial institutionsExperience in at least one core service area : IFRS 17, pricing & analytics, reserving, risk management or Actuarial Software Implementation
  • A track record of performing non-life insurance work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Willing to support new business generation
  • Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

  • The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word. Familiarity with WTW’s software (e.g. Emblem, Radar, ResQ and / or ResQ Financial Reporter) is a plus
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis
