We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will : Impact on the Business / Function

  • Develop and deliver a Digital Strategy across the China organisation including a strong partnering and activation platform
  • Support physical channels in the customer adoption of our digital propositions
  • Contribute to multi-channel performance and ensuring performance standards are met
  • Use innovative styles to support new business ideas entering the market
  • Be accountable for delivering sales and service targets where products are Digital pure play
  • Manage the P&L for the digital channels as part of the wider distribution proposition
  • Provide local business requirements for Digital change projects and provide final sign-off on testing and be accountable for quality assurance
  • Introduce Digital Innovations and strengthen Digital capabilities with an aim to increase customer adoption of our digital propositions and to enhance customer experience and satisfaction
  • Customers & Stakeholders

  • Work closely with Business performance to develop and define the multi-channel plan
  • Act as a spokesman with media for in-country digital press relations
  • Foster and develop a customer centric ethos, use customer insight to continuously enhance a seamless customer experience, increasing loyalty, advocacy and retention.
  • Work collaboratively across all internal business stakeholders in RBWM to develop local business requirements for Digital change projects
  • Work closely with functional stakeholders to ensure challenge but ultimately compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conducts maintains the orderly and transparent operations of financial markets

  • Build digital careers for new team and existing bank talent to build the next generation of digitally focused leadership
  • Define standards of performance in the Digital team and working collaboratively to ensure these are achieved

  • Provide the Subject matter expertise across all aspects of area of responsibility
  • Strong contacts in relevant industries
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to flex styles to engage with generalists and specialists
  • Provide personal leadership required for business delivery including removing barriers across teams and work partners
  • Promote the customer journey and experience as a central value balanced against the requirement of Digital business
  • Works in a facilitative manner in the matrix to build capability in progressing objectives while maintaining sight of key outcomes
  • Actively engage external organisations to understand market trends and seek opportunities for improvement in own team and matrix
  • Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Contribute to ensuring digital channel goals are identified, communicated, documented, agreed and delivered in the most cost effective manner possible through to the completion of the successful pilot deployment
  • Identify key risks, issues and interdependencies and providing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Accountable for ensuring all programmes achieve all SLAs at specific costs
  • Support audit / independent programme assessments as required
  • Ensure HSBC is not put at any operational or reputational Risk
  • Strong analytical focus to drive the development of the business
  • Ensure local requirements, regulations and laws are adhered to and communicated to the Regional team
  • Align and maintain target operating model required
  • Qualifications

    To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements :

  • Strong management experience in leading the development and delivery of digital platforms and products
  • Outstanding Subject Matter Expertise of channel, including technical, commercial, market place, customer considerations, China market (not necessarily financial services)
  • Strong personal links in the digital channel industry
  • Ability to lead specialised teams
  • Keen understanding of products, services and underlying processes to fulfill
  • Strong Commercial Orientation, ability in balancing risks vs rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business
  • Strong people leadership, team work, gathering information and analyzing, judgment and decision making, communication competencies.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a key asset.
