General Manager (Hardlines) Description

  • Achieve sales and cost budget Based on client yearly sales figure, work out yearly sales budget with SVP Develop action plan and monthly follow up to monitor sales budget achievement, report gap and corrective actions to SVP Maintain cost on budget and propose actions to improve profitability (TCS, Csi, Pli)
  • Develop the team and relay the culture Animate merchandising team through formalised meetings and periodical formalised business review Identify high potential people in the team and coach them towards more responsibilities Transfer of knowhow and understanding of client / company culture to the team Implement recruitment plan to match with business fast development Assist the team to solve large issues (price negotiation, large quality claims )
  • Responsibilities Sourcing
  • Propose and anticipate the new sourcing areas and production zone to SVP
  • Set up a sourcing action plan with clear list of the fairs and visit to new sourcing areas and potential vendors
  • Make sure his team proactively share information on Client product request internally (Onshore and offshore offices)
  • Be aware of the industry / product development trends
  • Pre-trip attendance Vendor
  • Formally validate new vendors creation
  • Guarantee that all vendors signed the required document from the Company / client Client
  • Be aware of the changes in client needs
  • Proactively provide new opportunities to clients
  • Ensure buying trip efficiency through good planning and organisation
  • Ensure total service to the client and responsiveness off the team
  • Personally establish one to one communication with buyers Product / Quality
  • Ensure client’s products request are quickly answered
  • Implement a weekly Issue follow up report for client & personally involve in solution
  • Negotiation Permanently challenge merchandiser on price Validate same item price increase for key products only after verification of product value breakdown analysis Drive the final price negotiation with large vendors
  • Reporting Prepare and lead weekly review with Merchandisers (onshore and offshore) Prepare and participate to monthly business review with SVP Set up conference call with client on frequent basis Proactively report to SVP on important issues Country Hong Kong Company Trading Firm Salary From US$80,000 Working Hours Full-
