The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is collaborating with Shenzhen Government to develop The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital as a teaching hospital of HKU.

With the presence of HKU, a new operation model for the Hospital will be introduced, aiming at providing high-quality services from primary to tertiary levels to patients in the region, whilst sustaining a teaching and training mission well supported by a robust research component.

The Hospital has commenced operation since October 2012.

HKU-Shenzhen Hospital

Applications are invited for appointment as , tenable from as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis.

As the Hospital is located in Shenzhen, travelling to Mainland China is required.

Applicants should possess a good university degree or professional qualifications in Human Resource Management, extensive experience in human resource management functions in public or large healthcare organizations at senior management level, and the following :

  • a) capability of bringing in a global view on human resource management and leadership in healthcare industry;
  • b) sound knowledge of, and experience in, manpower planning and staffing level control, recruitment and appointment, training needs analysis, career training and development, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, and human resource management information and reporting;
  • c) ability to motivate and lead staff to align with the organization's mission, vision and objective; and act as a role model and inspire, support and coach staff on planning and managing the process of change;
  • d) an aptitude of advocating work-life balance in the organization and balancing employee satisfaction and organization interests; and

    e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and preferably fluency in English and Putonghua.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

    The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
