Take the lead to implement new APQP strategies that drive product quality and continuous improvement whom you will be an important member of the Global SQA Process Risk team.
You will be responsible for using your understanding of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) to strengthen our implementation of this methodology for purchased parts.
Your dedication to quality is important to our customers and patients. The Regional APQP Lead should have a keen interest in APQP, DMAIC and risk management related to SQ processes and their usage to drive quality improvements.
You are responsible for
The regional implementation of the global APQP strategy, co-ordination and measurement of APQP activities at Suppliers ensuring an effective implementation of the APQP process
Ensuring the APQP process at Suppliers complies with all necessary Regulatory Standards including the European Medical Device Directive, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 and relevant FDA QSR or international regulated body requirements
Contributing to the development of the APQP process, including alignment and integration with the Company’s quality management system requirements
Developing organisational structures to support the provision of Supplier Quality planning services to the organisation and establish methods to support collaboration and best practice sharing
Leading, managing & executing specialized projects and their designated resources as required focused on the reduction of risk in our suppliers manufacturing processes
Providing advice and direction to personnel undertaking APQP activities with our Suppliers or at our manufacturing locations
Collaborating with and influence other stakeholder groups within Philips to ensure the inputs required to effectively execute the APQP process
Developing and conducting training programmes that will ensure the necessary application and compliance to the APQP process requirements
Participating in various forums to oversee the correct application of the APQP process, drive actions and take decisions to ensure quality from our Suppliers
Act as Regional escalation point for SQ personnel who experience difficulties in implementation or execution of APQP responsibilities
You are a part of
The SQA Process Risk Management team in which you and your department have clear interfaces with Philips Business Group and Market leadership, and can harness the expertise of five Centers of Excellence (COEs).
These 5 COEs specialize in the following capabilities : Regulatory & Clinical Affairs, Supplier Quality, Quality Management System, Quality Assurance & Engineering, and Compliance & Audit.

being and care for people around world. You are working together with about 60 Supplier Quality stakeholders across all Philips sites.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor Degree or above preferably in engineering or science discipline
At least 8 to 10 years’ experience in either a Quality, NPI or Continuous Improvement function within a large matrix organisation
Experience in the deployment and use of APQP
Experience in a regulated area (Medical Device, Pharma, Automotive, Aerospace, Food) is highly preferred
Good understanding in Quality tools - statistical tools and methodologies (CtS, CtQ , CtP, DfSS, SPC, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan)
Six Sigma Green belt / Black belt certification preferred
Strong understanding of quality risks and manufacturing process
Strong in spoken and written English and Mandarin / Cantonese is a must
Willingness to travel up to 30%
Self-starter and self-directed, capable of working with minimal supervision
Positive mind-set, assertive personality, strong character and authority
Strong influencer and able to push back when necessary
