About CNN International

This position is required to manage a team of Ad Ops Specialist who manage all sold interactive campaigns with an emphasis on video and display advertising for CNN International, CNN.

com,, CNN Mobile sites, to help maximize revenue. He / She maintains and communicates technical specs to sales, clients and agencies, mastering inventory in order to guide sales, securing and testing / QA campaign creative, accurately scheduling ads in software and closely monitoring campaign performance.

The team manager will give guidance in decision making on process improvement and instruction to sales team on ad operations, web development who plays an important role in campaign optimization determination.

He / she also supports day to day operational issues of Intl Digital Ad Sales from an ad serving and trafficking point of view.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage and build the strength of the Ad Ops team, and also book, traffic, & manage campaign performance and distribution of weekly performance report to CNN Digital sales staff.
  • Handle screen-grabs for sales / clients at the beginning of ad campaigns, monitor campaign performance, optimize campaigns and prepare post ad-campaign reports.

  • Work with sales in creating effective and feasible plans while maintaining online inventory.
  • Creative submission and testing, ensuring that the creatives meet CNN’s technical specs.
  • Campaign co-ordination between sales, agency, and 3rd party production / ad serving vendors.
  • Ensure campaign billing, rep commissions and vendor payment is correct and co-ordinate with finance department for process and amendments where required.
  • Build digital case studies and maintain internal Digital Ad Ops resources site.
  • Troubleshoot issues : malfunctioning ad creative materials, click-through URLs, and landing pages, custom executions, under / over-
  • delivery issues, order management and implementation

  • Work with WebDev and Site Product teams on changes, re-designs and launches across the CNNi platforms
  • What do we require from you?

    Platform & operational experience

  • Good knowledge of the Digital Marketplace / Tech such as Celtra, Operative One, Yieldex, ShareThrough, Teads, Advalidation, AdJuster, IAS etc
  • Experience with major Rich Media vendor products and agency reporting tools
  • Understanding and experience in Data Segment Management and Programmatic Operations
  • Familiarity with mobile, video advertising and behavioral targeting campaigns
  • High Proficiency within Ad Servers, including DFPP (vital), FreeWheel (advantage), Krux, MOAT and good knowledge of the Digital Marketplace / Tech
  • Excellent communication skills. Fluency in spoken and written English. Fluency in Cantonese and / or Mandarin is a plus
  • Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of Rich Media, Video Encoding, HTML5
  • Knowledge of web page composition and analytical tools
  • Sound understanding with computer languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
