free vision a reality and we’re looking to recruit a senior battery development engineer with electronics or electrical engineering background.

You should have a minimum of 8 years battery related experience for consumer electronics. You will be based in Hong Kong, with regional travel as required.

RISE TO THE CHALLENGEWe are seeking a talented individual to run our new lithium battery development activities in line with the battery roadmap.

You will develops and assess performance of the lithium batteries within the battery roadmap in collaboration with external partners and support building the ecosystem for battery developments.

You will also provide battery expertise on risk mitigation & safety analysis and develop, implement and report performance & safety metrics of all device battery developments. Key Accountabilities :

  • Manage batteries development and assessment covering the different RRP devices platforms in term of safety and performances.
  • Promote a rigorous approach of the development to support multiple projects in parallel. Guide battery development to support the roadmap of RRP devices development.

  • Manage battery specifications and engineering validation testing of RRP devices in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Support the PMI Quality team on failure analysis.
  • Support the development of lithium battery supporting ecosystem to accelerate research into new lithium battery technologies that can be used in RRP platforms
  • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature Essential Skills and competencies :
  • To be successful in the role, you will need to display excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
  • You have experience on battery safety and performance verification.
  • You are experienced in managing / collaborating with external development and manufacturing partners.
  • A university degree in chemical, electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent is required. The following would be an advantage :
  • Experience in running multiple parallel projects.
  • Creative individual, able to work independently whilst being a core team member.
  • Able to challenge direct reports, peers and senior management.
  • Structured approach to rationalize and develop process, tools and resources from both internal and external partners.
