Senior Manager, PMO
Project Management Office, Strategic Planning & Corporate Development
Strategic Planning and Corporate Development Department functions as the central planning and strategy development group of the Bank and addresses topics at the top of senior management’s agenda.
This role will provide the opportunity to work on different bank level strategic initiatives across all the Businesses and Functions of the Bank.
Within the department, Project Management Office (PMO) is accountable for the strategic programme implementation (aka project planning, management and governance) and selective programme execution (aka delivery) as per Strategic Plan of Hang Seng Bank.
The role provides the opportunity to lead implementation and execution of defined strategic programmes and / or projects involving multiple stakeholders from the Businesses and Functions, to contribute to the business growth of Hang Seng Bank.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Manager, PMO.
Strategy Implementation - Scope and plan major strategic initiatives; Lead identification of key stakeholders, research of relevant issues, collection and synthesis of relevant data, formal initiative management, staffing and facilitating of committees and work groups, preparation of work plans and communication summaries, and tracking of initiative status and measures of success;
Develop and utilise standardised implementation approaches, tools, and process
Implementation Communication - Prepare concise and professional summaries of plans and progress; Develop summary communication materials for executive level presentations;
Present information to all levels of staff, targeting the presentation towards the knowledge level and needs of the audience, including, internal senior management, taskforce members, and other stakeholders;
Facilitate information flow between involved parties
Mobilisation and Collaboration - Utilise strategy implementation tools to engage teams to participate in major initiatives that are cross-
businesses and functions; identify the appropriate pace of change in consideration of stakeholder needs, and incorporate that into planning and execution of initiatives;
Proactively consider and evaluate complexities of initiatives; Be the go to person for the initiatives, and in coordination with subject matter experts and leaders
Project Problem Solving - Approach the work with curiosity and purpose of adopting adequate skill and content to advance initiatives and remove barriers to progress;
Apply rigor in analysing problems, scope, effort, performance of the initiatives; Lead the initiatives by synthesising complexities and offering alternatives
Coach and mentor junior team members; Co-lead various department administrative and internal control responsibilities as per Bank’s requirements
University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as CB, CFA, CIIA and PMI an asset
Over ten years of strategy implementation, project management or management consulting experience in financial services
Excellent understanding of retail and corporate banking and other financial services products, organisation and operations;
Experience in social media, digital, analytics, automation and agile approach an asset
Excellent ability to interpret strategic plans and objectives and to translate strategy into actions; Excellent problem-
solving skill with strong conceptual, highly structured and analytical capabilities to deal with ambiguities
Strategy implementation and / or project management skill with a track record in leading and mobilising cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities;
Mastery of project government methodology and tools
Ability to own and execute tactical initiatives with highest level of attentiveness to details and with sensitivity in balancing quality delivery and risk management
Excellent written communication, oral presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to articulate conceptual ideas and strategic directives to a wide range of audience
Committed, self-motivated and action-oriented personality with strong ownership to drive business performance and the success of strategy development and implementation;
ability to build a trusted-advisor relationship with working partners and senior executives
Well-versed in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint; experience in modelling an asset
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin preferred
Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
