Corporate Solutions considers each claim to be a business opportunity and is looking for a proactive, solution-oriented Claims Expert for our Hong Kong office, reporting locally to the CEO, Hong Kong and to the Corso Claims Head in Singapore.

We would prefer some commercial claims management experience as a backdrop to handling a diverse portfolio of local primary and excess property, casualty, engineering and trade credit claims.

The successful candidate will possess professional insurance skills, will communicate effectively externally and internally and will, most importantly, be a team player.

The opportunity

You will be based in Hong Kong, supporting our business there. Your area of responsibility will however include Taiwan, Guam and Macau domiciled risks written on a wholesale basis in Hong Kong.

Many of the claims will have international program exposure.

You will manage a growing insurance portfolio of local claims, mainly commercial property, engineering, trade credit and casualty risks, from first advice through to the instruction of loss adjusters and other professionals and to settlement and recovery.

You will work simultaneously with internal practice leaders and other experts in various lines of business, to ensure that Corporate Solutions always delivers the best possible service to its clients.

  • You will be expected to be a market leader in managing claims and to interact with Clients and Brokers directly. This will include policy cover analysis;
  • the recommendation and recording of appropriate reserves and payments and most importantly, the ability to seek out solutions for each claim.

    You will be required to consistently share your findings, results and lessons learned within the organization, to ensure that we continue to improve our performance.

    You will interact with regional insurance markets, customers and service providers and you will be responsible for making claims-

    handling decisions within a financial authority level.

    You will play a key role in working with our underwriters and sales team in the acquisition of new business and retention of our existing portfolio.

    This will include the delivery of our Claims Strategy and our Claims Commitment philosophy.

    About you

    You hold a Bachelor’s degree and / or a professional insurance qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent and have language skills in English and Chinese.

    You are familiar with property and business interruption claims and concepts and also with the legal liability framework and principles in Hong Kong.

    Your previous claims experience stands you in good stead for managing large, primary, commercial and industrial claims. You are able to demonstrate interpersonal and negotiation skills, presentation and professional writing skills.

    You will be required to work effectively with various software tools and to have a sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software.
