Global QA Director (Hardgoods & Apparel)
An EU Retailer with sourcing office in HK, China and off-shore. They are now looking a Quality Director to manage the all quality functions (including new start up LAB) for Asia Pacific markets.
Reporting directly to the MD and leading a team of 50 to look after social compliance, QA & QC functions.
Management responsibility of textile quality, compliance and technical teams in Asia.
Giving advice for the new start up business of internal testing lab set up and management
Set up, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality system and methods.
Monitor, analyze and report on quality management. Report gaps and propose corrective actions.
Understand all partners' requirements, including quality referential, request controls, and authorized third parties service providers.
Liaise with other support departments (finance, logistics, tracking) to establish and maintain effective procedures to improve and achieve the targeted service level for all product categories.
Participate in developing the supplier base to ensure all suppliers meet commercial, ethical and quality requirements.
Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
Animate the social compliance initiative by following corrective action plan.
Communicate with HQ to define and clarify quality requirements and control plans.
Communicate with suppliers to handle client complaints and problem solving.
Work on projects to provide suggestion on laboratories / inspection set up for TCF / test / inspection services and problem shooting at management level.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years of experiences in QC / QA of broad range of categories as mentioned above, apparel experience is a must.
Effective and inspiring leaders, with cultural sensitivity who has previously managed global teams.
EU market exposure highly advantageous. Good knowledge in factory safety and apparel safety requirements for EU market.
Willing to travel regionally (China and off-shore)
Technically strong in product engineering & quality standards.
Business acumen, strategic mindset as well as able to give a hands-on approach when needed.
Must have English, Cantonese or Mandarin language proficiency.
