Position Description

International Capital Management and Advocacy (ICMA) is an international function within the treasury group, responsible for ensuring efficient and proactive management of regulatory capital.

The candidate will join ICMA team, to ensure appropriate capital management governance is in place through the capital management policy, review and challenge the capital assessments and establish Internal Capital Guidelines for all APAC entities, manage communication of prudential and support capital management initiatives.

The team works closely with the several stakeholders within APAC and Internationally including US, and requires strong proactive working relationships across all ranks and functions to operate effectively.

In addition, the candidate will assist with providing comprehensive analysis of monthly Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) summary and present to senior management in APAC upon request.

As needed, the candidate could be asked to provide business support for capital implications of new products and live transactions as well as providing capital training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and supporting the strategic management of legal entity capital across International, with specific focus on APAC
  • Co-ordinate, produce and recommend the key entities Capital Management Policy prior to its submission to the LMT or Board
  • Co-ordinate, prepare and review and challenge the APAC ICAAP including stress testing prior to submission to the LMT or Board
  • Co-ordinate, prepare and review the material entity quarterly capital adequacy assessment including stress testing prior to submission to the LMT or Board
  • Co-ordinate, prepare and review and challenge the APAC Capital guideline (IGL) prior to submission to the LMT or Board
  • Monitor all entities in APAC capital position and escalate a breach of Capital Guidelines / Triggers to the BAC Corporate Treasurer and the TCF Executive as necessary and contribute to the assessment of circumstances and determination of actions when Capital Guideline / Triggers are breached
  • Support the preparation of the material entity Recovery and Resolution Plan and review quarterly refresh
  • Review and concur with capital actions, regulatory capital analysis or disclosures or processes related to compliance with regulatory requirements as required prior to their submission as applicable to relevant governance committees or a regulator where appropriate
  • Supporting key strategic capital management initiatives within APAC or from group
  • Comprehensive analysis of monthly RWA summary and present to senior management in APAC upon request
  • Provide business support, including coordination with legal, risk, finance & accounting policy teams, for capital implications of new products, live transactions and business initiatives
  • Delivery of enterprise capital initiatives, capital training and bespoke education to the APAC region
  • Key Requirements

  • APAC local capital regulation knowledge preferred
  • Legal entity knowledge including IGL or ICAAP preferred
  • Understanding of the RWA, capital instruments and capital reporting requirements preferred
  • Strong interpersonal & written and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of US Basel 3 and BCBS capital regulations would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of financial products would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Accounting rules, additionally differences between APAC local / US accounting rules would be advantageous
  • Detail-oriented, proactive in every approach and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environments
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments and priorities
  • Adapting your behavior to build relationships with a wide range of people at different levels

  • Candidate should be educated to degree level and preferably have a post graduate qualification
