Position Overview

The Actuarial Analyst / Associate will support the Head of Pricing Research & Development and other senior members on assignments in the Regional Pricing Team.

This includes application and analysis of experience studies across Asia that provide experience and market insights to management and the pricing teams, regular reporting, varieties of initiatives and projects at the regional level.

  • Responsibilities

  • Perform checks on Asia business results and prepare regular quarterly reporting for global team and Asia leaders
  • Support regular updates from the Regional Pricing Team, eg AXIS templates
  • Provide technical / actuarial support for local pricing teams
  • Support ad-hoc corporate and internal projects
  • Support Regional Experience Studies Actuary, eg
  • Collate the available internal experience investigation carried across the Asian markets (and global markets where applicable)
  • Analyse the emerging experience of all lines of business across the Asian markets
  • Collaborate with different teams in order to ensure data and experience studies consistently used for identifying trends and insights for business initiatives
  • Develop insights and present to the Regional Chief Pricing Actuary
  • Support Regional Research Actuary, eg conduct research and produce pricing basis for new business development initiatives
  • Share experience and provide guidance for the new cohorts of pricing graduates in the Regional Pricing Team
  • Required

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in a field related to the actuarial profession
  • Part I subjects of the IAA (or equivalent overseas exams)
  • Preferred

  • Part II subjects and / or making good progress in Part III towards a globally recognised actuarial qualification
  • Up to 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry
  • Required

  • Strong Computer skills : Excel and AXIS (VBA and Access are viewed as a bonus)
  • Ability to work simultaneously on different projects
