The Alternatives Sales and Product Manager will be a primary contributor to the overall success and growth of BBH’s rapidly expanding alternative fund servicing business.

The individual in this role will be responsible for a wide range of business activities related to the accounting and administration services provided by BBH to leading global asset managers with alternative funds.

This role will focus on alternatives with a particular regional focus and thus needs expertise in the requirements of the region.

The Sales Manager will reside within BBH’s sales and relationship management group and will report to the SVP of Funds Product Sales.

Responsibilities :

  • Product Management
  • Shape and manage BBH’s expanding offering to alternatives funds. Responsibility for product management, sales & technical sales support, and business planning activities within Greater China.
  • Assess / remediate product / service gaps, overlaps and deficiencies
  • Input to and monitor the global alternatives investment program
  • Understand alternative fund regulatory changes; organize, prioritize and execute BBH responses
  • Act as a source of knowledge and insight on industry initiatives and plan for related product enhancements
  • Develop and share market intelligence to identify potential product enhancements and new commercial opportunities
  • Work internally with operations, finance, risk, legal and other BBH functional areas on the planning and execution of a strategic product development roadmap
  • Product Marketing

  • Assist in the production of original thought leadership content related to alternative fund servicing for internal and external use
  • Participate in industry events to raise BBH profile in alternatives market
  • Maintain and improve product marketing materials
  • Strategy

  • Assist in designing and implementing a strategic plan for this key sector in the region covered
  • Contribute to the refinement and ongoing development of BBH's long term strategy and business plan for servicing Alternative Funds
  • Analyse, improve and maintain BBH pricing strategy
  • Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Manage the sales plan for alternative funds business in Greater China. (PE, Real Estate, Private Debt and Hedge)
  • Identify targets with ideal client criteria for BBH
  • Achieve annual revenue targets within stated profit margin goals.
  • Take ownership for long-term profitability of current client relationships.
  • Identify and coordinate innovative and integrated solutions to address clients’ strategic challenges using multiple BBH products and services.
  • Promote BBH products and services throughout the industry and position BBH for long-term growth and opportunities
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience; MBA a plus
  • Strong understanding of institutional alternative asset management industry including a thorough understanding of the fund operation and finance functions commonly outsourced to custodian / administrators
  • Familiarity with the processes and systems commonly used for fund accounting, financial reporting, shareholder recordkeeping and performance measurement
  • Minimum five years experience in global financial services businesses and the alternatives fund segment
  • Knowledge of actively traded alternatives fund markets (globally) is desirable
  • Knowledge of Private Equity funds and Hybrid Funds is desirable
  • Good knowledge of the alternatives industry, players and ecosystem in Asia ExJ ; major managers, lawyers, auditors, brokers, etc
  • sales managers require the perfect combination of technical knowledge, creative problem solving and commercial insight

    Stakeholder management and influencing skills are a key requirement

    Superior communication skills including writing and presentations

    Professional business acumen; ability to interact in a professional manner at all levels, both internally and externally
