We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Business Financial Crime Risk Governance and Control .
Manage, plan and assist the implementation of strategic initiatives for Commercial Banking to mitigate all kinds of financial crime, regulatory and compliance risks
Ensure Commercial Banking comply with the regulatory requirements and Group compliance policies optimizing their impact to business, operation and customer
Assess the impact of regulatory changes and recommend optimal, sustainable and cost effective solutions
Adopt the global framework and standards, integrate them into local business policies and processes
Drive the implementation of Anti Money Laundering and Financial Crime Risk Management programmes
Undertake portfolio management, diagnosing financial crime risks of different sectors, products, business types and country and recommending and implementing risk mitigants
Assess the impact of regulatory changes and recommend optimal, sustainable and cost effective solutions e.g. Competition Law, Data Privacy Ordinance
Ensure Commercial Banking comply with rules and regulations as laid down by regulators and avoid penalties associated with noncompliance.
Support the review of cases requiring approval by Reputational Risk Committee
Provide executive updates to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis of the progress of Commercial Banking Client Selection and Exit Management programmes and workstreams, the impact on the business and intervention where necessary
Responsible for coordinating Client Selection and Exit Management stakeholders and hand offs primarily with Second Lines of Defense e.
g. Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions, Regulatory Compliance, Legal, etc. and Operations to ensure operational effectiveness of Client Selection and Exit Management
Ensures local execution of Client Selection and Exit Management Governance that are in line with approved guidance and Terms of Reference.
Where processes sit within Functions e.g. Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions, Regulatory Compliance, Legal, etc. or Operations, these should be managed through subsets Performance Level Agreements and Service Level Agreements between Chief Operating Office and such parties with performance tracked through Management Information to ensure aspects outside risk appetite are moving towards tolerance levels and escalating accordingly to Chief Operating Office and Line of Business Heads accordingly
Defines, measures, tracks performance of operational effectiveness of Client Selection and Exit Management stakeholders
Drive regulatory projects and Global Standard Client Selection and Exit Management related initiative and identify improvement opportunity
Evaluate any Client Selection and Exit Management Governance policy change and address potential impacts on Commercial Banking Client Selection and Exit Management process for the end to end oversight of operational effectiveness of Client Selection and Exit Management process and procedures
Facilitates local execution of Business Risk and Control Management, Financial Crime Compliance Assurance, internal and external audit results along with associated remediation plans and actions
Accountable for the Operations and Second Line of Defense teams that run operating processes that determine the operational effectiveness of Client Selection and Exit Management e.
g. assessment of quality of triggers, quality of build the case, quality and completeness of execution activities.
Ensures local execution of Business Risk and Control Management, Financial Crime Compliance Assurance, internal and external audit results along with associated remediation
Implement in country Client Selection and Exit Management training programme
Ensures customers outside Group's financial crime risk appetite are exited across the Group and pose no further financial crime risk to Group.
Ensures customers previously exited for financial crime reasons cannot onboard again by ensuring that stakeholders have updated relevant screening mechanisms with Global Exit List true hits triggered into Client Selection and Exit Management in such a way as to ensure such cases are exited with appropriate Financial Crime Risk governance
Good understanding on the regulatory environment in the financial services sector
