Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of IT Audit Digital Platforms and Software Development .

Principal responsibilities

  • Understand industry-wide transition to digital channels for customer journey and the strategic impact of this transition on HSBC.
  • Understand and keep abreast of the changes in the business and regulatory environment impacts on the HSBC governance framework.
  • Critically analyse and assess the impact of audit findings and recommendations on the current business model and the future operating environment.
  • Develop, maintain, align and deploy audit department resources in accordance with the current and future needs of the business.
  • Critically analyse and determine the key drivers of change for HSBC and the wider banking industry and assess how these will impact GBL INA in both the medium and longer term.
  • Clearly communicate issues and associated risks as well identify the root cause and the possible strategic implications.
  • Requirements

  • Financial services industry experience (ideally with retail and commercial banking products experience) and strong understanding of digital business, experience in hands-
  • on delivery of digital platforms is a strong advantage.

  • Experience in a global or regional roles, working effectively to deliver targets in a large, matrix organization
  • Exposure to digital projects that required interfaces with a range of legacy technical platforms (mainframe, AS400, etc.).
  • Strong thought leadership and creativity to proactively propose new business opportunities and resolve issues
  • Strong commercial orientation, track record of balancing risks versus rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business.
  • Demonstrates flexibly when addressing
  • Shifting or competing priorities

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across stakeholder groups
  • Proven ability to influence large teams with direct leadership authority
  • Proven ability to manage third parties
  • Able to share responsibility for key decision making with a team, while accepting responsibility to drive internal decision-making processes.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines and units and at senior levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent at navigating differences of opinions. Experience in developing and executing customer facing and staff facing communication

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Energetic, positive attitude and team player
  • A flexible approach to work and working hours. Willingness to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferable
  • Strong understanding at various levels across an organisation of Digital Products and applications.
  • Awareness as regards market conditions, trends and competitor activity.
  • Customer focused, results based approach, able to deliver to ambitious deadlines
  • Demonstrates flexibly when addressing
  • Shifting or competing priorities.

  • Outstanding subject matter expertise of channel, including technical, commercial, market place and customer considerations.
  • Strong personal links in the digital and finance industry
  • The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
