Commercial Effectiveness / Business Intelligence Manager - Hong Kong

Your Responsibilities :

The objective of the Commercial Effectiveness / Business Intelligence Manager is to improve and sustain the quality of business decisions in accelerating performance by Sales & Marketing in the responsible LOC with routine data analysis from multiple internal / external data sources and enhance the overall effectiveness of resources allocation in the LOC by driving market and customer segmentation process with standardized global protocol.

Connecting and maximizing the commercial value of all available data by deeply engaging the business owners of the corresponding market and partnering with cluster EDM.

The CE / BI Manager will also be the advocate to upskill overall sales & marketing’s capabilities in conducting data driven approach strategic analysis at all level.

Commercial effectiveness / Business Intelligence :

  • To implement and sustain Commercial Effectiveness and Business intelligence capabilities in the LOC in day to day commercial operation by aligning with global standards and ways of working through engagement, benchmarking, training, and involvement in cross functional teams and projects.
  • oDrive data-driven, customer focused approach to optimize customer Segmentation & Targeting and commercial resource allocation

    oImplement and optimize existing SFE system & initiatives (e.g. VEEVA, QV-BI, S&T, etc.) with standardized process and ways of work through offering of above country organization and KCs

    oEmbed robust tracking of aligned set of SFE KPIs into regular business review process (cluster / regional)

    oImplementation of Commercial Analytics and Business Intelligence Roadmap (Knowledge Center, Datalab&Qliksense) to drive better customer insight and experience.

  • Display an in-depth knowledge of market environment, systems and processes, and enable data integration across different commercial channel and systems e.
  • g. CERPS, Cognos, VEEVA, Qlikview, health.gsk, etc

  • Exhibit deep engagement and establish strong partnership with Business Owners to ensure comprehensive use of data in commercial decision making and continuous improvement in data analytic capability for sales & marketing organization
  • Drive Teamwork across different business functions (Com Op, Commercial, IT, Finance, CS&L, etc) in advancing organizational CE / BI capabilities across cluster
  • Enable external focus performance dialogue by appropriately incorporate external benchmarks into regular performance evaluation process
  • Manage scope of work and resources on CE / BI in accordance to GSK IPT priorities
  • Partnering closely with Cluster Enterprise Data Manager to ensure agreed SLAs are adhered by KC and looking for opportunities to continuously improve data management processes in the LOC, harmonize ways of working.
  • Continuously drive improvement in data connectivity across different commercial platform / system by offering first-hand insight to Cluster Enterprise Data Manager and KC in data cleansing & workflow optimization activities
  • General :

  • Active member of the LOC commercial organization, collaborating across functions to drive performance and ensure alignment with LOC, cluster, regional and global direction and expectation
  • Look for opportunities to streamline commercial processes in the cluster, harmonize ways of working.
  • Stakeholder management, extensive liaising with commercial leads in LOC, cluster, region and global.
  • Rapid response to events and market needs : facilitating fast feedback cross-functionally and driving rapid adoption of best practice within cluster
  • Ensure GSK s ethical standards are consistently met in the area of responsibility
  • Be a strong business partner to GM and senior leaders in addressing key business challenges and providing bespoke support as required to interrogate and resolve key business questions
  • Basic qualifications :

    The candidate must have strong business sense and good communication skills in interpreting the linkages between business questions and insights from data across different area of commercial operation.

    Strong MS Excel skills (A plus but not mandatory : some experience in the use of tools such as Qliksense or Power BI or Tableau)

    Experience in system administration of Veeva or Cognos / DMS

    Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills with a proven ability to build trusting relationships.

    Some experience in working with Knowledge Center (A plus : Sales & marketing experience in corresponding market)

    Excellent oral and written communication skills English,Cantonese and Mandarin proficiency.

    Demonstrable evidence of multi-cultural sensitivity

    8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical / healthcare sector

    Preferred qualifications :

    High level commercial / business acumen is required to support business owners in generating insight through various data sources

    Should be a skilled communicator with strong ability in translating business requirements into technical terms or vice versa among stakeholders with commercial and technical background
